2. What's going on with you and the UFC?
They have a right to match any offer I get. I called them myself to see what the deal was. I wanted to hear it with my own ears instead of what my manager told me. I told them what I needed and they said they couldn't do that. AS of today I am a Free Agent.

3. So was it not a good offer?
I think it was but the offers I got were alot and I mean alot better offers. I wanted to stay in the UFC and I would have taken the money they were offering if they would have picked up one of my sponsors.

4. What do you mean pick up one of your sponosrs?
When I was first fighting in the UFC I had a few good sponsors that helped with my monthly bills. When the UFC got strict on the whole sponor thing last year it made it hard for me to pay bills in between fights.

The rest is here. (http://www.bettormma.com/site/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=22)

Yes, Paul is an entertaining fighter. He got his big shot in the UFC and picked up some paychecks and new fans, but there wasn't much left for him to do in UFC's HW division now except drift around and test up and coming contenders. A fight with Vera would have been some quick fun, but he could do better elsewhere. Not sure where he'll land, IFL, back in KOTC or perhaps the new WFA which could use some more heavies and maybe set up another bout with Ricco.

Hopefully he will be picked up by someone fast. He's entertaining to watch.

I think that it is what Paul was saying. Look at the article again.

It's kind of sad that even once title contenders cannot make a living at the UFC. The part about UFC running the sponsors (so doing running Buentello into near bankrupcy) is even more outrageous.

Basically they don't pay you enough to pay your bills and prevent from others doing so. I mean that does not rhyme at all.

exactly ^^^ messed up situation. they need to allow the damn sponsors, as thats how some need to feed their children.

Seems like the latest rumors are leaning towards Paul fighting for the WFA.
