1-st MMA fight

Just returned from the event. It's the first time a trainee of mine goes to MMA. I train him for striking (and it proved quite effective) whilst his grappling trainer is a friend of mine, blue belt under Royce. Unfortunately a single mistake can spoil a match (he went overcomfident for a flying knee which I reckon was kinda exaggerate as it served the opponent an ocasion to grab his leg). But one over another I think we did pretty well :)

The blue shorts guy was more fun to watch...

He had entertaining strikes for an MMA match.

I wasn't too thrilled with the ground game of either, but if it is his first match I can't really complain.

The boy has something like 6-7 months of training cummulated (striking + grappling) and I think there's bunch of room to improve. We had the opponent changed in the last hour before the match which was not so nice, but sometimes it's inevitable :) Hopefully we will get a gym with mats because the present one is totally unfit for MMA. Tx for the nice words :)
