The last time in all euforia I made a thread about passing my exam to recieve my Yellow belt in Jiu Jitsu. I had pics and all so I decided to share it with you all.
This time though, the photographer was not around and I wondered wether I should start a thread about it at all. Well as you can see I did choose to do so :).
I started training in the nearest dojo 1 year and 8 months ago with no martial arts background whatsoever and today was the day to fullfill the basic tasks for the last time because from here a new belt will be a harder assignment and knowing the techniques will be more of your own responsibility.
First my training partner did his exam in the known basic way of questions in the idea that the jury (my sensei and the other blackbelts) asks you to show a straight armbar, a bend leglock a hipthrow, shoulder throw you name it.
All went well and then it was my turn.
After the Kata (not like karate but you preform a string of set techniques that implie an Atemi a technique (throws or locks) and an Atemi to finish) I did not get any questions but I was given carte blanche to show my sensei that I deserved orange. That was a tough one as I could basically go down the line of different techniques in the same area but decided to show some of all which worked out fine but at the end I heard that I totally forgot about bend armlocks, the Ude garami :).
In the end I was told to stop as they had seen enough. Yes now I can complete the orange madness this country is in right now by dressing in our national colour in the dojo :D.
