Royce Gracie vs Ken Shamrock

A very predictable match which saw Royce attacking with the submission attempts from the bell. Shamrock was content to avoid engaging in too much of a ground war and picked away witrh strikes most of the fight, landing hard knees and inside punches.
As the match went on, and Gracie began to get frustrated, we saw ken work the submission game, and even come close to catching Royce in several armlocks.
Ken landed some solid shots from the mount cutting Royce open, and eventually wore him down to a TKO stoppage.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/grantellis/kakutougi/amarvsgreco3.png
In the second match, Greco was just too big and too skilled a striker for Amar. From the the get-go we saw the larger man land consistently and pick Amar apart with a series of kicks that could split a man in two.
The Armenian Red-Devil fighter tried firing back with some counter shots and even some dirty boxing, but he failed to take Greco down or secure a submission. Greco pressed onward until he got the KO victory.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/grantellis/kakutougi/ronvsfujita3.png
The battle of the big men! Ron turned this into what looked like a collegiate wrestling match. he scored great takedowns throughout the fight and looked for the occasional knee fro mthe clinch. Fujita retaliated with some good guillotine attempts and some modest ground and pound midway, but Waterman kept off of his back and took control.
Ron Waterman slammed his way to a TKO victory.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/grantellis/kakutougi/mirkovsgenki3.png
By far the most entertaining matchup was Genki Sudo versus Mirko Cro-cop. They were both on the attack the entire duration of the fight.
Somehow Genki managed to open a cut, which hindered the Croatian's ability to initiate offense, but he couldn't capitalize on it. Mirko managed to outmuscle Genki on the ground and work some bone-shattering combinations on the feet.
Genki fired back with his own unique brand of striking, including a spinning backfist, but failed to stop Mirko's attack and ended up getting KO'd late in the fight.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/grantellis/kakutougi/minowavsgamlin3.png
Every now and again, a fighter who SHOULD have won his match ends up on the receiving end of an upset. This is one of those cases.
Minowa started early with some good takedowns. He controlled the larger man throughout the fight.
He came close to getting a leglock, but through a gift from the Gods Gamlin escaped.
And then he landed the big right hand.
CRASH. Minowa was out.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/grantellis/kakutougi/shamrockvschief3.pnghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/grantellis/kakutougi/shamrockvschief4.png
A real battle of attrition broke out!
The Chief took every shot thrown his way on the chin and returned smiling and even fired back with some of his own. Shamrock was not detered though, and eventually worked a number of submissions on the ground, but just like the hard punches, The Chief had a ground game of his own!
After 13 minutes of fighting, Shamrock was eventually able to stop The Chief and take the victory.

A slow, yet tactical start.
Waterman tried clinching, but Greco matched power and avoided the takedown for about 10 minutes. Waterman then started to gas and althoug he did get Greco down he could not keep him there. Greco got back to his feet and began striking with the wrestler and managed to take him out standing with combinations and deadly axe kicks.

Mirko stayed on the outside and picked him apart the entire time. End of story.
Mirko bloodied him up before 2 minutes hit, then KO'd him a few minutes later.

Greco by KO after two minutes.

A very cautious start, with each man circling way outside, niether initiating.
Both picked at each other with sharp shots. Both landed.

After about 12 minutes the pace began to pick up with Mirko actually knocking Greco to the canvas and pouncing. Greco recovered instantly, but his lungs were beginning to fail him. Eventually he lost the war to conditioning as Mirko pressed the action.

NOBODY KOs Hunt! It had to be a bad stoppage or something!
And yeah, it was luck of the dice, but Mirko did get an easier road... the game takes note of stamina and fatigue (hence Shamrock getting ko'd so fast) but in the end Mirko was king. :X
