Some may have heard of him some not. Willy Williams got famous within the Kyukushinkaikan world for fighting a Grizzle bear with his bare hands in the 70s.

I've been wondering for a long time is this true or fake?

For sure it is a real bear, but the bear could have beeen a trained circuss bear or even under the influence of some kind drugs, which made the bear really calm.

To me, this can't be true. A real bear would kill a person within seconds. Even Fedor couldn't beat a real bear, especially not such a big one.

I have this video at home and this clip shows it quit clearly, the bear rests (with his head) on Williams' shoulders. A real angry bear would attack straight to the neck or face. Survivers of bear attacks told that a bear attacks immediately to the face, to blind them.

Why didn't this bear do that to Willy Williams? A polar bear can kill a 350 lbs seal with single blow, could you imagine what a bear would to a human being?

What do you guys think about it? Is this true or false? What's wrong with this bear?

I think a bear that wasnt made to stand and growl (not sedated or trained) would have mauled that guy to death within seconds.

The bear STOOD around while that guy threw some crappy snap kicks on it and pushed it. A wild bear can run as fast as a human and it would have took one or two swipes at him and literally ripped him to shreds. Its pretty common sense.

As fake as it gets. Sound effects added later to add some power to the weak punches. Obviously Willy was holding his punches so that the bear would not get pissed off.

Something's up with that video. First, how do you arrange a fight with a bear? Do you run around the mountains in Alaska until you find one wanting to throw down? Obviously not, since there are cars in the video, so they got a bear there, and that alone makes it suspect. Secondly, there's a bunch of people there. A man with a shotgun ready to fire at the bear, and I heard dogs in the background. The bear is either sick or sedated, or a pet bear. The bear didn't seem to know where the opponent was, and when he did, he pushed him a little. Didn't claw and didn't bite. Bears are very fast and strong. Something was wrong with this bear. This video is most likely some kind of PR "trick", and I can't let this post go without saying I think it's awful of their PR division to bring out a fighter to beat on a bear. And no less to beat on one that seems sick or sedated. The same goes for beating bulls.

Thank you all for the reactions thus far. Something is wrong, that is for 95 % sure. If Willy Williams did it for marketing reasons, he was smart because 30 years have apst on and we're still talking about it. He made name in the kyukushinkai world, but if it was fake why could Williams or someone else who was involved with the organising of this "event" can clear this up. Say what really happened.

It requires guts to "fight"with a bear though, see this clip http://www.ejbdotcom.net/content/2391.html where a seemingly quite bear gets aggresive.

Its just like the elaborate breaking of bricks. All show when in reality it doesent demonstrate anything impressive to me.

I guess that bear was embarassed in the video haha. Maybe having some fun getting tickled.
