Good fight!
Ok so Misaski won but I think it was extremely close. Baroni had the full mount on Kazuo but for some reason the ref chose to restart them standing after the yellow card, that might be in the rules but bah, Baroni could have won if he used the position to land some shots.
Misaki did make Baroni miss but then again Kazuo didn't land too many punches either. There were some good leg kicks but Baroni did land some shots, including a big one near the end of the second, and worked the body well in the first.
Would like to see a rematch down the line, but first hopefully we can see Baroni vs Ninja, and Amar 2 and Kang 1, depending on how far the latter two advance.
What are your thoughts on the fight?

I think that Misaki took a confortable decision. Baroni did ok, though he gassed at the end of the first and was throwing some wild punches (missing alot), in the second too. Misaki landed some very good kicks and punches too, Baroni's chin is damn good. Misaki had two very nice flying trip takedowns in the second, pounded very well with both punches and knees and had a couple submissions attemps during the fight (the kimura was good). Misaki for sure scored more points and did more damage (see Phil's left leg). In my opinion Baroni was not even close to get the decision, most of his punches were hitting air. He landed something, but Misaki definately more.
Points: Misaki
Damage: Misaki
Aggressivness: Both
At the end Baroni put himself over Misaki grabbing the rope (without the help of the rope, he would have never been on top). So the referee calls the break and Phil keeps punching, that's why he recived the yellow card.
It was an entertaining fight, i enjoyed it.

It was an entertaining fight, and one of those where either could have ended it at any time if one of those bombs had landed, but in the end I think Misaki took it quite comfortably...and without ref help.
Phil certainly didn`t roll over though, and his performance was pretty good. Seemed like for the most part about 3 minutes into the fight Misaki had started reading his punching and was able to avoid the vast majority of them.

It was a good fast-paced fight. IMO good job by Baroni, he seemed to have better gas this time than ever i mean if you look at the first Minowa fight you know what i mean. Baroni has a lot of potential, he just needs to add something to his game other than the usual wild punches he throws.

he needs to get some kicks in there. its ok to be a striker but you gotta be well rounded there though. you see your opponent is Baroni, you know exactly whats coming. not good. its ok to know your gonna strike, but if they know you can snap some leg kicks, or throw some highkicks along with that powerful boxing, they will then have other things to worry about.

People should be more convinced than ever that Baroni is and will continue to be the real deal in that he will always give his fans/haters an exciting performance. Anyone bashing him for this recent loss should not consider themselves fans of the sport. Because what we saw in the middle of the ring between Misaki and Baroni is what MMA is all about.
It was a great fight. And people really need to give Misaki a lot of credit. In the beginning of the fight Misaki was able to just duck inches away from 3-4 shots that could have ended the fight. But I credit Misaki for moving after his punches, thus making it hard for Phil to land anything square like he did with Kondo and Chonan.
Phil showed a lot of heart in the fight and I do not believe his cardio was all that bad considering the pace of the fight. Sure his punches came off with less snap at the end, but you see this in most fights toward the end of 15-minutes of going blow for blow. Both fighters showed a lot in the fight.
I am terribly disappointed in the outcome as we won't get to see Phil fight in the later rounds. I hope Misaki continues on to do well, to show what he did in that fight with Baroni and even with Dan, were not an anomaly to anyone who may not have seen him before he came to Pride. But with that said Pride is lucky to have a fighter like Phil in their organization, in that as flamboyant as he is and what he says, he backs his shit up in the ring by bringing it each and every time out.

Misaki took the decision comfortably, it wasn't close imho. He picked his shots and his movement was very good. The latter surprised me because he did look kinda stiff in his last outings.

Baroni proved he is a far btter fighter than a lot of people wanna giv credit for, but Misaki still pwnt him that fight.
