To think I was worried about van Dams taking the nr1 rank

Just watched the fight twice to make sure and it was either a draw or a win for Choi. Add to it that it is a home-job plus K-1 prefers Choi over Semmy and there is no way Semmy could have won that fight fighting the way he did. Am not going to argue with anyone any further, but Choi took that fight.
Once again, this is the reason I'm not a big Semmy fan. its easy to overwhelm somebody in a standup fight if you've got the height advantage and aggressiveness. Its quite another thing to take a fight against an equal or bigger opponent which even rudimentary skills. Really want to see Semmy vs LeBanner, Alexei, Hoost, Aerts etc.

I see a close win for Sem....mostly coz of the last rd and coz his shot were more "cleans" in the 2 first rd. A draw is still OK for me! But I dont see Choi win!!! Most of his shot didnt get the target!
Props to Choi for this good fight, I mean he was supposed to be destroy by Sem low kick and punch etc..... Finally he did well! I dont know exactly how much Sem fatigue do affect this fight results???

Looks like the #1 rank will do some circulating

Hahaha, I'll spare Felix from my "the number #1 rank in CKO's system is not meant as a achievement trophy, rather another rank that tell you just as much as the #3, or #54 ranks - simply who is there is the guy who beat the previous dude holding that particular position" theory... :) Trying to explain a newcomer how in the world a korean giant new to K1 is in it's #1 place rank should be fun!

Choi will hopefully fight someone in the Elims which will make his rein as #1 only slightly longer than Sems.

You know I don't really have a problem with Choi being number one. If you think about it he has only lost once in his K-1 career and that was to Remy another top 10 CKO guy. I have already been joking about the back lash to come, but if you think about it he has been decently concistent. Compitition not the highest, but concistent never the less.

If it were just Hong Man Choi as the #1 heavyweight kickboxer in the world, I'd merely scream my brains out. But, Nakasako taking a top ten rank for beating Kaoklai makes me want to scream your brains out too.

Hey CKO, I was wondering how are you going to deal with the LeBanner situation? Does him and Remy switch are do you go off of the original call?

Hey CKO, I was wondering how are you going to deal with the LeBanner situation? Does him and Remy switch are do you go off of the original call?
No. I will make the appropriate adjustments according to the official results. This is not the first time fight results have changed (past examples have always been changed to NC), so I will not make any exceptions based on what I feel is right.
One of the most important aspects of the CKO rankings is the level of predictablity. Five years ago no one would have know what to make of Choi beating Schilt. Now, even before I got to the keyboard, I noticed posts around the net saying "That sucks. Choi is #1." It took a few years to really drive home the message that my hands are off, but now I think the community is realizing the power of an objective system.
I think the Remy-Jerome situation is terrible, but it is not the place of a ranking org to play government. The K-1 is overstepping their authority, the CKO will not do the same.
Right now I am waiting for the K-1 to annouce the results. I will then make the change. If the Dutch Sports Ministry overrules the change, I'll change it back. The K-1 may feel they are the law of the land, but Remy does have one authority that is higher for this event.

How is it going on on sherdog CKO?
I suggest you write down the explanations directly in your signature there... Big letters, easy language... :D

Most Sherdoggers are sizequeens who believe the list should be in order of height so it only makes sense that Choi is #1.

Paul Slowinski got knocked out by Ustinov at the MARS Korea show and Corbett got knocked out by Alex Roberts at the last MARS Japan show.

These bouts are labeled Muay Thai. Were elbows permitted? Was the scoring a 10-point must?

I counted the Slowinski bout but not the Corbett fight. At least one fighter must be over 90kg. Koaklai is the best example. He can get ranked for beating Alexei and Mo but not for losing to Sato.

Thanks guys. Nice to have a one stop list like that instead of doing a web search for each guy.
There are no issues of dual citizenship that create confusion, are there? If I had a penny for every time someone told me that Gary Goodridge was from Trinidad and Tobago, I could buy a movie ticket. (I'd be going alone, but that is still a lot of pennies!) My response is always to tell them that Nick Pettas was born in Greece (true). They never respond after that. The funny thing is that they nearly always offer the help by insulting me. "Gary is from T&T, moron!" "Leko is Croatian now, asshole!"
My gratitude here is genuine.
