Kondo To Defend Pancrase Strap On 8/27

Yuki Kondo will make his Pancrase return on August 27th.

It was previously reported that Pancrase President Masami Ozaki was planning the August 27th BLOW-OUT TOUR card in Yokohama to be a big attraction, and that he wanted to get Pancrase star Yuki Kondo back in the ring to defend his Light Heavyweight title. Now, it appears that Kondo will participate on the card, which will already reportedly see three other title matches in the Heavyweight, Welterweight and Featherweight divisions. It is said that Kondo's opponent may be long time rival Sanae Kikuta, ranked first in the Pancrase Light Heavyweight rankings, or long time PRIDE veteran Daijiro Matsui, who is fifth in the Pancrase Light Heavyweight rankings.

I want Kondo to defend his belt in the most spectacular way possible and then to fight Dan henderson in a rematch at NYE 2006, only WIN this time and be the first person to wear a Pancrase AND Pride title. THEN Josh Barnett comes out and says how Yuki didn't do shit apart from take his German Suplex in their last fight and how he wants to offer him another Open Weight KOP shot. Of course THIS time Yuki knocks Josh out the ring a la Frank Shamrock and then hits some kind of swan dive knee drop to the outside to win the title. Of course, what should happen next but Sakikabara comes out to the ring to say even though he won Dan's WW title, Pride would never accept Kondo as a real champion since he lost too many times. Kondo says NO WAY. Sakikabara laughs and admits that he told all the judges to screw Kondo during nakamura and henderson fights, and also let Baroni take an extra ten spoonfulls of steroid before their match. Kondo is so pissed. Sakikabra goes on to say he's booked Kondo in the next Pride GP, a first because it's a ZSt style tag event, only Sakikabara hasn't given Kondo a partner and he's facing Baroni and Crazy Horse in the first round. What? It's Kikuta's music! Sanae Kikuta comes out and says HE'LL be Yuki's partner! Sakikabara is furious. You'll never win Yuki, he says, Pride HATES you! You wre never meant to beat Mario Sperry. Kondo and Kikuta high five.
