This is a funny interview with Frans Botha after his fight with Jorgen Kruth.

Frans showed a lot of humor and he has an adorable wife.

Virgil, Ek hoor jou pa afrikaans praat met Frans. Maar sy praat te vinnig, so ek kon nie goed verstaan nie.

Enjoy!

very funny :)

Botha is a fighter with a great heart! In the third round I think he got better into the fight and pressured Kruth a bit. A 5 round superfight would have been better (as always).

I miss the 5 round superfights.

He got into it well in the 3rd and began putting pressure on Kruth. He managed to close the distance and unload some combinations with Kruth against the ropes. The 3rd round system makes it too late, though. Kruth winning the first two rounds would do well enough to defend himself the 3rd and not get tagged hard. 2 more rounds would have been better for Botha, and the audience, I think. On the other hand, he knew there were only 3 rounds, so he needs to come out and start connecting right on the bell. Kruth took the first round in this fight, but in many 3 rounders, itīs strange how the opponent gives away the 1st when it could be drawn (or won) just by scoring some points. Instead they end up having to fight under pressure for the remaining two. Anyhow, that didnīt happen in this fight. Kruth took the first round and won it.

As I said before on other forums when Botha first came to K-1 I really didn't like him since he started out having that bully attitude, but after having the shit kicked out of him several times he changed and became a friendly fella. He always puts up a good fight and seems almost impossible to knock out but he's lost so much I'm feeling sorry for the guy. They should feed him some cans to build up his confidence and improve his record a bit...

well the guy is almost 38, I can't see him having THAT long carreer... He'll probably still bring some reasonable money in for K-1 but he isn't the guy you put up against cans, bring him slow, and make a superstar of him; he already has made his name in boxing and is not THAT marketable... Guess K-1 will use him against the better fighters as long as this will last...

He seems like a nice guy. WTF were the questions to his wife though?
