Alright, so taking of the fighters that already qualified...which fights would you like to see so far?
Let`s run down the fighters that are already qualified:
Schilt (though I think he should get a free pass like Remy used to), Feitosa, Musahi, Remy, Ruslan, Choi, Sefo and Aerts.
I think we can safely assume Jerome won`t be fighting in the Elimination this year.
And the tournament winners so far: Slowinski, Chalid and Bregy.
I think a good Final Eliminations fight would be the already planned
Feitosa VS Karaev...it would be an interesting clash of styles.
Maybe also Sefo VS Aerts...a good veterans match.
What do you guys think?

I'm betting they will give Musashi Chalid Arrab, that will be the easiest fight for Musashi.

JLB will be working for a movie until October.

He won't be able to work something out? It'd be a shame if he chose a movie over K-1. This might be one of JLB's last chances...

That sucks about Jerome, oh well.
As for Musashi, I don't know, they gave him Abidi last year (or was that '04), so I don't know.

It has been interesting so far but some of the newer guys I have not yet seen. Slowinski being an exception. I think he has a fighters chance but alot of work needs to be done on him before stepping into the GP and GP eliminations level. He kicks hard, really hard. But his faults. He is a walk up fighter (sometimes good but not against smart guys). Needs to play with the ring a little more and use the space. Set up his foward movements cos in the past he walks into too many shots. But he still has a fighters chance.
So far, I would love to finally see a Sefo win in the GP (same as every year for the past 100 years) but I do like how Feitosa is shaping up, growing as a fighter and improving with each bout.
Still early days

As I recall, Jerome said in an interview a while back that he won`t fight in any more GPs + he has the movie deal.
Slowinski got KOed by Alexander Ustinov a while after he won the GP in Oceania so I kinda see him as the Rickard Norstrand of this year`s Final Eliminations.

I would like to see:
Slowinski x Remy
Breggy x Sefo
Schilt x Choi
Challid x Fietosa
Superfight: Musashi x Aerts
Reserve match: Iron Leg x Ruslan
Superfight: Goodridge x Sapp

Razor - ??? You got me confused there mate... I guess you probably misunderstood, they are talking about the Semi-Final GP, the one where the winner go to the Final GP. So there's no reserve fights just yet, it isnt a tournement, single-fights only - the winners, as said, go to the Final. ;)
Musashi had his place secured as the "permanent" Japan champ for centuries, but now he has to fight in the semis as anyone else - the way K1 found to still secure him in the GP is to give him to most appropriated fighter considering his strenghts - if he's alive at the end bell, he's in. So no Aerts for him, both guys need to qualify and can't be in a superfight. Same for Ruslan.
As to picks, it's way to soon, I believe there are still some qualiffying places to be taken? Still, I'll be cheering for Glaube Feitosa as a mad man, he improved so much... It's just incredible he has finally found his place in K1 and is giving full use of his state-of-art technique. Ignashov SHOULD r-e-a-l-l-y make an effort to at least make his way into this year gp, if not to win it, as at least he would spare himself the huge trouble it's to go through quallifying GPs, now that he's so susceptible to injuries... To GPs in one year is freaking heavy, obviously.

Interestingly that is pleasant Jerome in MMA fights? Business of taste but as the show fights K-1 is much more interesting and tough. I want to see tough and dynamical fights, instead kama-sutra fights, as often happens in MMA.
for example
During MMA round LeBanner vs Sapp - There was absolutely nothing to look.

When did Slowinski fight Ustinov? I never heard about this!
From what I saw of him he is my dark horse in this tournament. Massive improvements from him and I can clearly see him getting better these last 2 years.
And I would like to see Ignashov get a chance but If he turns up over 115kg and fights on autopilot I would rather not. No disrespect to him as oyo stated he has just had reconstructive surgery on both his knees and hes in a difficult situation but next time I want to see him 100% prepared, mentally and physcially.

Ah thanks, body shot from Ustinov put him down! Damn that sucks.
Seems he is fighting Xjhavit Bajrami soon!

Ustinov beats nearly everybody, but somehow K-1 doesn't like him.

Ustinov also won a tournament in Belgium where Bregy also fought.
I'm definately disappointed that he wasn't in the Amsterdam tournament. He's a big HW and knows how to use it properly and doesn't look as awkward as most others his size (Bregy for instance).
And at his last opportunity in Vegas he just didn't look as good as he good against Nortje.
It's sad but it's true...
I guess you could give him the title "the best fighter never to have been in the final elims"

I want a swede in the mix too. Biased or not - Kruth will win over Botha and hopefully he or Nordstrand will get a shot in Vegas.

When he was fighting Nortje in Vegas, Ustinov still had a very injured leg...that`s what kept him from performing well. He had 2 great chances...he was defeated (JD) by Ignashov in Paris in 2003 (when Iggy was at his peak), then in 2004 he had the chance in Vegas but his injury kept him away...other than that he has won almost every tournament he`s been in.
The man is a very skilled fighter and I hope K1 will come to see that some day.

that was a freak accident. in a beginning of second round slowinsky forgot his mouthpiece, he got hit and broke one of his back tooth, it got stuck in his throat and he choked on it and Ustinov put him down with a body shot. just bad luck - he won the first round.

Yeah I read that he was beating Ustinov until that point. I didnt know about the mouthguard. Forgetting your mouthpiece and then getting your tooth broken and choking on it sounds like a freak accident! Man that sucks for him atleast it was a body shot he can recover from that for sure.
