Would there be any interest in me doing broadcasts for a small audience made-up of our forum users one or two nights a week just for kicks?
I can set up a digital "call-in" system for guests if there is any interest in that sort of thing.
By no means am I aiming for professional quality, or recognition, but broadcasting has always been a hobby of mine and I would like to try to entertain our forum users in the meanwhile with some streaming music and commentaries on the sport... while giving them a chance for feedback.
Hah, is there any interest?
I can also provide means for other "Deejays" to connect to my computer and broadcast.
I am running this all off of a home PC on my own connection and server, so bandwidth is limited, but it could be a fun thing to kick around twice a week when I am not working.

Thats an interesting idea.
Would it work well for 56k users or those not running on broadband?

It should be able to, to listen to anyways.
I wouldn't expect a wide-audience.
I will probably set up an IRC channel to run simultaneously for song requests and interaction.

I have no idea how this kind of thing would work, or whether you could archive the shows so people like me in totally different timezones (since your evening is my sleeping time) with shitty computers could access it but I'd definitely be interested in this. But some msic and MMA/K-1 stuff would be cool. Depends on your taste in music though, LOL.

Yeah, I'd have to take requests.
And I know how to archive the streams into MP3 format for later downloading, but someone else would have to locate the files.
There's a chance I could do it on one day in the afternoon for European listeners and on another day in the evening.
I'm probably going to give it a test run for a week, then maybe give it a one shot.

Let us know when you're doing it. I'll do my best to have a listen. Can't guarantee anything since I don't actually have a PC right now but am using a variety of different methods to get internet access.

Sounds like a great idea to me. Would even be nice if you guys could organize some US fighter interviews on the radio show too occasionally.

I personally think this is a great idea. Interviews in particular would be great, but commentaries, ramblings, members opinions and thoughts etc would all be great to listen to!

It's still happening, but my work schedule has prevented me from doing too much with it.
I will post 24 hours in advance when I am going to be back on the air for sure.
