according to Tony Montana anyway. http://mmafighting.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14393

Tony does work for/with TKO and I assume he has some source for this.....he is not known for making shit up (even though we have had our rather public fights on Sherdog many a time, lol).

I will wait for an official source before wetting myself, but I have no real reason to doubt Tony.

I never can tell with Tony Montana.

I have no reason to doubt Tony. I'm sure the news is legit. I'm just not understanding why Rampage would make this decision. Job security and money out the window...

Damn damn damn, gotta agree with Tokyudo, not really a smart decision.

edit. so got to ask, is this Tony Montana an insider who has reliable connections to people in UFC or in rampages camp?

Don`t like the gage, don`t like the UFC rules, Don`t like the standard of "top" UFC fighters. Don`t like UFC.

I cannot say if it is true, but while Tony and I have had our trouble in the past, the guy generally does NOT lie or make shit up, and he does have lines in the industry.

On a downslope in pride and as i said before i wernt that sure that pride even was going to offer him a contract. At this time pride has such a huge number of extremly talanted fighters that are crowd pleasers aswell and if you stick rampage in an event some one else needs to go.

In his recent performances he doesnt seem interested to give the pride top one more shot.

If this is true perhaps this was the best deal for him counting moneywise and jobsecurity. I think it will work out better for him in the ufc perhaps he can find the motivation again and can start believing he can get his hands on a belt. He will for sure have a better shot in the ufc then in pride.

I think it would be a smart move and make sense only because:
1) Rampage refused Kharitonov and Aleksandre as opponents.
2) Rampage has shown little interest in fighting the OWGP.
3) If Rampage won't fight the OWGP he is more or less out of work in PRIDE for a year.
4) Why not come to the USA where traveling is easier for him, he can be closer to his family, and still fight for some decent money in the UFC?

After one or two fights he probably has it written in his contract that he is guaranteed a title shot, like Belfort did.

And Chuck Liddell lready called him out once.

I predict Rampage vs. Babalu, winner gets Chuck Liddell, loser gets winner of Forrest vs. Tito, winner of that maybe gets the champion.

Hasn't Chuck already announced he is fighting Babalu next? and Tito has said that after he beats Ken "beat the living death" Shamrock he is going to get Chuck? So that would mean that Chuck already has 2 potential title defenses lined up already.

Eastman, Bonnar, Sakara sounds like more realistic fights before getting Chuck.

Tito isn't fighting Ken next, he is fighting Forrest.

And no, Chuck has not announced his next opponent. Chuck doesn't announce opponents, the UFC does, but it sounds like they were hyping Babalu next...

...but if they just got a hold of Rampage, there you go.

Doesn't me this isn't in the works. Didn't deny he wasn't signing with the UFC, and maybe he wants to add to the excitement if its announced at the next show.

Well, if Rampage isnt allowed to negoatiate with other organizations before 1. April, its quite obvious why he would shoot down all rumours about him signing with the UFC already.

I see the UFC as the right place for him. He can archive a lot there, and with the recent boom, he can make a lot of dineros.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing him in the UFC at all. We already know he's not going to beat Silva. However, he has already beaten Liddell and could do it again. Would be nice to see him with a belt. And the American audience would love him, I think.
