HRE, I would advice you to check this http://forum.kakutougi.info/showthread.php?t=4473, I had a similar question and I use Glucosamine myself.

It is a "lubricant" for the joints, and it protects your cartilage. And it has no side effects, expect if your allergic to it. So it is save to use.

I don't know if you live in Europe ( you once said something about Marseille) but in a lot of European countries you can get in on doctors advice and the insurance company will pay for it, expect for Holland, here you have to pay for it yourself.

I used some similar stuff for about 5 months and it did nothing for my knee.

Okay, that can be. But what was wrong with you knee then? Glucosamine only saves your cartliage and help to protect it. If you have for instance a torn ligament, Glucosamine wont help you.

As for most things, for some it may help, for some it don't.
