Sure. Make everyone else jump through the f...ing hoops and give some unknown MMA guy a free ride. The K-1 has to stop this crap.

I see your point, but I don't know if I think that this and the Ruslan thing are the same. I mean Ruslan did have like 140 kickboxing wins before getting the call. I hope Cyril knocks this dude out, Cyril is my dark hourse to win the tourny.

I took info today and Cyril have no clue who he is fighting / what pool he is in right now.
Any info about this fighter?

Quite tall ! He won't be very easy to highkick then : )
I'm making an update on Cyril's website, I wanted to put all the fighter's names but it seems we have 9 fighters now?
Shoshin do you know if there will be a K1 NZ website for this event? maybe we could exchange links?

He would be replacing MO.
Mo is going to fight in the Las Vegas Event.

Krs, this is the official K-1 NZ homepage (and they have just uploaded a new poster) http://www.k-1newzealand.co.nz/
And Lord, you are correct but his prior fights were amature and I don't think anyone can really confirm how many fights he had really had.
I assume if K-1 have gone for this guy he has at least shown some potential somewhere, and/or may pose a future risk to Semmy. Thankfully they seem to have toned down their freak-factor choices as of late.
I do agree with CKO's sentiments though. Guys like Graham had to win 4 tough fights just to qualify to fight in a qualifying GP to qualify for the Elims. Compared to that Ruslan had it wrapped up and a pretty little bow attached.

True i thinks its a tough call for the fighters that qualifyed the hard way, but Japan are running this event and probably want to have a high rating event.
I know that Ruben is 2x times New Zealand champion strongman and also has beaten Hirawa te rangi for the New zealand Vale Tudo belt also.

I guess he must be a decent guy considering the size this event seems to be becoming, but I would have prefered to have seen someone a bit more established get the spot.

Well... you know how those lumberjacks are, lol
BTW oYo, I think Mo's the type who's "smart" enough to obtain such marvelous tan lines all by himself, lying passed out in the desert after a bucket of sangria and actually keeping his NBA shirt on, because Mo doesn't like getting sunburned, lol.

Great. I like Rony and he has done the hoop work necessary, not only this year but in the past too. Being Ray's younger brother, Ron has received surprisingly few "gift" nominations. He has done his work and when he came up short has had to live with the results. I've got a lot of respect for him and hope he does well.

Far better choice IMO too.
