Continuing along with our boxing vs MT theme that seems to have emerged recently, this great match up will take place in just 2 weeks.

Which will it be?

Zambo's solid body shots and hooks, or Buakaws teeps and kicks?

We're all aware Buakaw's boxing has overgone a major overhaul right. Or was I the only one noticing his outboxing Kraus in their 2nd fight? By outboxing, I mean hitting him in the goddamn face a lot with his hands.

I can't picture Zambidis getting close enough to hit Puramuk... he'll get teeped and mid-kicked for 3 rounds and if he does get close enough to hit Puramuk, he'll take some deep knees straight in to his abdomen. I hope for a competitive, exciting match--but I picture a one-sided, exciting match. I do, however, think that Zambidis is the only MAX fighter with enough power to hurt Puramuk with punches.

I think you are probably right. For the most part I see Buakaw using his legs to keep Zambo out, clinching like a vise when Zambo gets in, and then having to listen to all the Zambo fans complain that K-1 ripped him off again by not penalising Buakaw for his excessive clinching/throwing (which for some reason they rarely do......."some reason" more than likely being his manager).

I expect we will see some moments of greatness from Zambo, and some great body shots, but it wont be enough if it goes the distance.

Has anyone ever tested Zambo's body? I think Buakaw could be the one.

It has been ages since I saw the fight, but Kohi landed some serious knees to his midsection when they fought.

Masato gave Zambidis' body hell with knees in their first match. I think if Masato was able to drop Zambidis with the weakest part of his game (knees) then Buakaw can certainly do it too.

Poor Zambidis. He's constantly fighting good guys.

Well, much better treatment than Jadamba that's for sure. Can't say they're being bad to you when they give you Kojiro, HAYAT0 and some 163cm MMA fighter that's only had 2 kickboxing matches.

No one has had it like Jadamba though.

True that, I hope they don't exclude him from the qualifiers this year.

Big Zambo fan here, so I must vote for him.

Exactly, I don't even think it's so much a case of constantly fighting good guys (which as you point is false - I mean they're good, just not in his league) as it is him simply losing those big fights.

This is actually a closer poll then I thought. I have to go with Buakaw in this one. I am torn because I love them both, but I don't see Zambo winning with out a KD and I don't see him landing one. In the only fight that Buakaw did take a KD he still scored enough to force a extra round. His point total will be to much of a mountain to climb.

Buakaw. Will prove to crafty I think. I mowed it over in my mind and I've seen both of them winning but Buakaw continues to deal with opposition better than Zambo. If it were knees I would pick Buakaw openly, but with Zambo's power I pick him quitely and sit the fence a bit.

I see Baukaw's shin connecting horrificly with Zambo's head...

Buakaw's teep kicks is made for a fighter with the fighting style (and height) of Zambidis. I would be suprised if Zambidis managed to win this.

The one thing that Zambo has is he is the perfect K-1 fighter. When he lands he lands big time. He scores the way they want K-1 fighters to score, with punches that echo to the cheap seats. If he can land sometimes he could atleast force and extra. It is just to much of a strech for me to take him over Buakaw who is as bad a style match up as can be Zambo.

Again, hitting Kraus in the goddamn face...with his hands

If Zambo's gonna land a big one it's going to be in the first rnd as BPP always starts slow.

But I also see BPP scoring the JD.

I am going with Zambo simply because I cannot remember a superfight he has lost. He seems to suck at GPs, but not at superfights.
