That guy CroCop is facing look mean... Hopefully Mirko will catch him off guard and kick him to a KO victory. I'm just cheering HEAVILY for Hunt though, he needs a win and his opponents looks like a machine. :)

Barnett vs Mirko is an interesting matchup. Barnett looks mean but he knows how to play to the Japanese crowd. You know, make bold statements, slit-throat-gestures, and say some words in Japanese. He's a smart showman! A smart fighter, too. Armbarred Semmy Schilt at Inoki Bom Ba Ye last year (second time he armbars him) and beat Rene Rooze this May. Other wins include over Jimmy Ambriz and Randy Couture. Only loss is to Pedro Rizzo in the UFC. He got punched and laid out. Anyhow, I think he'll bring a good gameplan, so we'll see how well he executes it. Other interesting tidbits are that he started training fairly late, I think at 16 (correct me if I'm wrong), him and the guys at AMC Pancration trained Bob Sapp for his fight against Noguiera, and has been fighting in Japanese pro wrestling. He was put in less favorable light, however, after testing positive for steroids in 2002 and getting his UFC HW title withdrawn. That's when he parted with the UFC.

Barnett should not try and keep this fight on his feet. He's got about an inch in height on Mirko and maybe 20 lbs, but his standup is not nearly as good. His game is best fought on the ground. He likes to ground and pound and then go for a submission. Mirko we all know is good on his feet, but since he's been training a lot on the ground, I'm kinda hoping it goes there so we can see where he's at. I'm looking forward to this fight.
