If this is gonna happen it will be awesome with guys like Amrani, Malaipat etc. etc.

sounds nice, they can be a real counterweight to max when all the big boys are in.

Wow thats a lot of money considering the K1 MAX champ gets 90k. Superleauge is equally just as talented as MAX imo, It would really be cool if they brought an event or two to north america each year.

Well, I think most famous Superleague fighters are super-MW (Laursen, Amrami, Swerts, JWP, Malaipet), so I guess that's where they should aim at first. This is actually pretty good news - Superleague is fulled with incredible talented and hardworking fighters, having a tournement season will surely add much more drama and motivation for the fighters to excel, rather than just focusing on single fights with no real value career wise.

all fighters currently signed with SL here:

http://www.superleague.tv/fighters/all_de.php

BTW most famous fighters in SL are MW or lower...

but SuperMW rocks too with The Shok, Clifton Brown and Joeri Mes

SuperLeague is definitely becoming a major player. The prizes are ok, the fighters are really good. I enjoyed last two events really.

Superleague is awesome, except the last show which was kinda weak.
The problem was mainly matchmaking though, which won't be much of an issue in a tourney.
If they need more fighters they should look east IMO, there are enough dutchmen in SL and some of the recent additions from the region haven't been that great. Kaas Yakut was great however, hope to see him in the tourney.

I hope they say 165-170 range...... I will try to get into the next tournament if this one is a success for them.

I think this is a major move for Super League. It shows that they have the finances and the talent to compete with K-1 Max.

I think the only thing better then this is if you had an event that put the best in Max against the SL. Could you imagine SL showing up with Crooke, El AMRANI, SITPRAPOM, Marza, Skabowsky while Max showed up with Masato, Zambidis, Buakaw, Ludwig, and Kraus, it would be a war.

Going by that lineup, I'd take the Max fighters in a landslide...

Of course, Kraus does fight for both organizations (but it's obvious that his priority is K1), and Skarbowsky fought for Max a little while ago (not televised)...

I like both organizations, but for me Max is more interesting than Superleague....

Wouldn't be too sure of that, the majority of Superleague fighters are heavier I think. Also Kraus and Skarbowsky present an interesting conundrum. Both fight for K-1 MAX and Superleague, and Kraus specifically is one of the MAX posterboys. But with Superleague vs MAX being a thinly veiled Europe vs Japan, would they stand with their countrymen?

Incidentally Niita also fights in both and I'm sure he'd be on the MAX side for obvious reasons. I think Sato would fight for Superleague to spite K-1 lol!

I think SL would do well to pick up some more top European fighters who are not currently in Max, such as Drago, Simson, Vielvoye, Veselic, etc. I believe Spong just signed a multi-fight deal with them, and he is a great addition. I expect big things from him. I'd also like to see Sato and Chapman back. If SL goes after these kind of guys instead of some of the unknowns they've had recently, they can easily compete with, or even surpass, K-1 Max, imo.

I'd like to see Jomhod in SL. Great to see Jomhod in action again at 9. of April at Fight Festival. He is fighting against Youri Boreiko in K-1 rules.

One promoter said that Jomhod is too good, so they don't want him to fight in SL.

If I remember right, Maunu has said that Jomhod is too good to K-1 Max. I dont know about SL. But SL is a little bit closer to muay thai, than K-1 Max is. Well, I'm happy as long as I can enjoy Jomhod's fights in Finland.

Jomhod is the Bernard Hopkins of MT. He makes very good fighters look very ordinary. I can't wait to see his match versus Buakaw at the K-1 Scandanavia if it comes off.

The should make a tournament with

- K-1 MAX Champion
- Superleague Champion
- S-1 Champion
- Le Grand Tournoi Champion
- A-1 World Combat Cup Champion
- Shootboxing S-Cup Champion
- KOMA GP Champion
- Showtime tournament Champion

Now THAT will be a show!!!

omg man... that would be a wet dream.

allthough, that could be a card with a lot of K-1 Max fighters ofcourse;

Buakaw, who fights in KOMA, K-1
Kraus, Superleague, K-1
Souwer, Shootboxing, K-1
JWP, S-1, K-1
Zambidis, A1, K-1?

I'm not sure who of these fighters could be champions where, but it's a decent guess if you say that the card will be much alike K-1 right now :P

El Presidente
17th July 2005, 04:27 PM
just take the current champions of that year - and make a card.

Wet dream. i agree.

in case of 'double' champions, we can always consider organizing a tournament with all the rest of the good fighters we can think of and let the winner of that qualify instead! Or/and give a wildcard!

Anyone feels like organizing? :P

Ja. Every tournament (Max etc) ends up as basically a qualifying stage for this ULTIMATE tournament.

Who ever would win something should get a statue made of him.

one can dream eh?
