If you missed Bas on PKW last night we now have the audio archive available on www.prokarateweekly.com. Bas previewed each of the Shockwave fights and commented on Herring leaving Pride for K-1. Bas didn't sound happy about it and had some interesting things to say about the situation.

Also on Last nights show.....Eddy Millis confirmed that Sean Ohaire will soon sign to be part of K-1's Dynamite card on NY EVE and discussed Ohaires 2005 plans.

Monte Cox talked about Pulvers future with Pride, Horns participation in the 2005 Pride GP, and Franklins status with the UFC.

Free archive is available now.......Thanks for your continued support!

Oyo and crew....what are your thoughts on what Bas said (if youve had a chance to listen)? I was surprised to hear him somewhat take a shot at K-1 but I know he was very dissapointed to see Heath go.

Yeah, a little surprised too, but I think he might not know a huge amount about K-1.

I mean, K-1 are bigger and more main stream in Japan than PRIDE are, and DSE certainly didn`t think much about "Japanese not liking fighters being stolen" when they scored Hunt etc...

I don`t really know.....I read somewhere DSE offered Herring about half what he was on, so I wouldn`t think K-1 would need to even offer much more than what he was originally being paid to get him to move. Particularly as Heath mentioned many times that he wants to move back to the states, and that he is kind of in limbo amoung the PRIDE HW`s right now.

You know what fight I would like to see...Pulver vs. Crazy Horse in the PRIDE ring...

Grant's Thoughts On Bas's Comments:

As for Sakuraba vs. Wanderlei - Bas should remember that he lost to Ken Shamrock twice and still wanted a rematch, Semmy Schilt lost to Kondo three times before he beat him the last time... and yeah, I agree that Sakuraba probably won't win, but I agree with his last comment "Any given day someone can one..."

He gave good insight on Gardner's development as a fighter. Thank you PKW for getting us someone to explain how he is doing to us.

His comments on Kevin vs. Mirko were expected, there's not too many ways to look at it.

I think Pulver's pro-boxing experience is being underrated, but I agree that Pulver should use wrestling to his advantage.

Kondo vs. Henderson is going to be the fight of the year, you know? Bas always points out good things for newbies to the sport of MMA each fight, as with all of these reviews.

I think his comments on Herring were expected, noone knows how long K-1 MMA will be around, but I only expect good things from that.

I do like how he pointed out Quinton will improve as he gets better training partners. Let's get him with Couture and Mirko asap :B

And yeah...I saw the Elminator... not sure how much further Bas should pursue that career.
(He's not a bad actor, but if that's the best script he could get.. yikes)

Heath has been living back in the States for a while now - he left Holland and has been living in Las Vegas (remember when he was in the audience at a UFC a while back?). I think living and training in the States will help Heath a lot - his performances have been very erratic in Pride and I don't think he's ever reached his full potential. Perhaps Pride was tired of waiting for him to reach that potential and that's whey they weren't willing to offer the money anymore.

his performances have been very erratic in Pride and I don't think he's ever reached his full potential.

That is so true, and hopefully being back home near his child, in a better training environment etc will help him push it to the next level.

For K-1 it is a good choice at getting some instant US interest in their events, so if Heath does well, and they play their cards right, this could work out extremely well for both.

Didn't TQ offer him a spot? Herring, that is.

I think he was invited to come train with the SoCal crew if he was interested, but lots of people come in and out of there - doesn't mean they necessarily are part of the team.

I heard it from Evin Rohrbaugh, he's a Ring Girl-esque TQ fan... who know's... he is still pretty young

Training with a new team can only be better for Heath. the GG team never had that much success in Pride and Herring needs a team that could really make him improve his wrestling and GnP, which already is good but he definately has the potential to improve it further.
