Hey guys, I have a little tournament coming up on sunday. Nothing spectacular, but I was just wondering what type of foods I should eat on the day. Weigh-ins start at 7:30am and I think the bouts start at 9am and I'll be fighting twice before it ends at probably 2pm.
So it'll be an early start and I'll need to take some food with me, any suggestions?

Will you be struggling to make weight, or you'll just be walking in at natural weight?

Water! Just don't over do it, or you might not make weight.
Next time I fight, I might have to have a feast so I'm not so under. :p

Im always between 80-82kg and I am in the 78-84kg category, natural weight so I should be right. I was just wondering what type I food I should have that will help me with my energy.

Not knowing how you react to particular foods and how much energy you'll be using for the fights, I`d say each some oats in the morning with some sort of protein, and maybe a little sweet potato. This would want to be a few hours before the first fight. Take some bananas and an apple along with you too.

Thanks guys, I got oats and apples and bananas :D
Its olympic taekwondo rules, 2 X 3minute rounds (X2), im going for state selection. Didnt really know whether to classify it as a fight or a sport, either way its a but of fun.

You know yourself best. I think my body just works too hard and long to break down the food when I eat pasta-type-foods and meat, so on performance days, I'd stick with fruit because my body takes up on it easily. It makes my body feel light and easy. Additionally, when I eat fruit, I don't have to worry about spending half my energy trying to shit a large chunk of pasta before somebody kicks my stomach. Might be just highly personal how my bowel-movements work. Guys that get nervous before fights might wanna go easy on the pasta, too, for the same reason.
Proteinshakes have a positive effect on me, too.
