People seem drawn to places with highlight sections. I think it would be a great idea to have one kinda like Ironlife, where only posters with content can enter.

Another idea I think would rock is a kickboxing fight finder that includes several different events. The sherdog kickboxing fight finder isn't good at all. It usualy only shows shows from K-1.

EDIT - If you gys choose to have a highlight forum or somthing, I have a lot of highlights of K-1, Pride, Superleague, and etc.. I also have a lot of fight clips too. So I wouldn't mind yousend'ing some.

Highlight videos absorb a lot of bandwidth, which translates to money spent.

There are a number of sites out there who are paying for the bandwidth to host highlight videos. I believe it would be wise to use those sites features rather than compete against them.

One problem I noticed at IronLife (back when I was a writer for them) was the fact that we had many good highlight videos, but very little discussion on the forums.

It is my firm belief that we can foster good martial arts discussion while refraining from spending the cost to host downloadable highlight videos.

This is simply my opinion on the matter.

HL`s are something I`m torn on too. I love them.......I just wonder if they are worth the effort, cost, and types attracted to them ( when we really only want to new, or knowledgeable posters to join up ). What I like the idea of is a HL of whoever it is we interview every now and then......maybe a forum for them down the track depending on how things go with them.

This is something already being worked on which will be significantly more indepth. Unfortunately it, and all the other things we are working on are hugely time consuming, something none of the admin has much of now.

So a little patients will go a long way, as there are plans that are being worked on. :-)

Perhaps if you acquire the help of some of the more knowledgable posters in these forums to help out with the fight finder it might go quicker?

Id be willing to help out as i have a lot of free time.

We need a database schema to push it into. I'm thinking that something along the lines of a geneaology database would allow for some flexibility to map relations between fighters and events. Somebody with time on their hands to do that and the data access interface to it.

I was just talking about members contributing with information. For instance some members who know more about one fighter could do a profile for him and all the fights hes had in k1 and acquire some pictures of him.

As for the technical aspect thats probably more with you knowledgable site makers!
