I actually think that the idea of adding more smilies is a bigger and more important issue than some think. In my experience in many forums where I'm at (two of the biggest forums in particular, at one of them I'm an admin) and in the experience of my study (I study Digital Communication) there's a huge subject about how you communicate on the internet.

this may look trivial to some of you, but actually it can really make a difference. We are all on the internet. It's all computer mediated communication. But the disadvantage is that you can't see any facial expression. Smilies really can help make a difference not to be understood in the wrong way.

A good, well designed, expressionate smiley in your post in a heated discussion can really work and make the difference. One of the best designed and good expressionate set of smilies (and they are also very slick, graphically spoken) is this one:

We use them on both of these to big forums (forum.fok.nl & gathering.tweakers.net) and I can't even imagine how we could do without. Ofcourse I still manage to survive it here ( ;)) but for me it would be a cool addition to this already fantastic forum.

I know every forumsoftware has the options to replace some smilies, and I'm wondering if the admins here are willing to at least consider this idea of adding these smilies (I can add all these smilies in small gif formats in a zip-file if you like)

OK, I looked at this and saw just the smileys that you guys can see. I raised a support ticket with vBulletin today and asked whether more smileys can be downloaded or purchased. I'll see what they say.

Not about MMA necessarily, but you'll be surprised in what context you can use most of these smilies :)

Satan: I'll add the most used smilies in one zip and put it online for you. Not all will probably be suitable for this site, but you and the other admins maybe can debate what ones you'll use. If you want any advice, don't hesitate to ask.

Oh, and I'll add one bigger screenshot of the smilies with all the codes on them. I really hope you'll use those codes because I'm used to them lol :P (and others will probably adapt them fastly because they are easy to learn :))
