The trainer that inspired me the most is Enn Fairtex out of the ol'Fairtex in San Fransisco. He was the one that taught me the basics of Muay Thai, and would always offer me a sip of his favorite Red Bull Thai drink. He gave me the motivation to gain some pounds and take training serious.
Another good pick would be Jongasanan. Nobody has ever offered me a beer during work. Haha.
Who was the trainer who inspired you the most?

LOL nice post whoring to get into the Competetion.(jkjk)
The trainer that has inspired me most thhough was probably my first boxing coach back when I started at 12. He was always positive and spent alot of time talking boxing with me. He would also give me loads of boxing books/magazines but ONLY after he thought I had trained hard enough. He was a great inspiration and I was upset when I moved away, but thats when I discovered Muay Thai, so that helped the pain a bit.
You still train at Fairtex? Lucky bastard

I should point out that LeftHookKO was used internally as an example of how to properly create a number of good posts and earn their way into the competition so not even the slightest offense is taken. ;-)
As far as trainers go, I've not personally had one that inspired me. The most inspiring one I've seen from documentaries and other is Cus D'amato. That said, I've not come across many coaches. :-)

Possibly my first trainer when I was doing JKD the principles of which I still use to this day. Don't wish to post his name though.

I started training jiu Jitsu about a month ago and I really like it, my trainer doesn't go easy on us but he does it in a nice way that makes you giggle even if he has just made you airborne after demonstrating a sweep of some sort. Also my higher ranked fellow students try to make you enthousiastic.

My first and current trainer. His name is Eddy Tongalahi and hes somewhat a legend here in NZ because he and Ray were the pupils of Lollo and were considered as the first generation of New Zealand Muay Thai fighters.
He has lots of experience having been a champion Muay Thai fighter and has had well over a 100 fights. And he inspires me because he says good things about me and trains me hard. Next year when im ready to fight he will be pushing me very hard for sure, which also makes me feel special as he commits himself to it a lot.

Watching Angelo Dundee tell Sugar Ray Leonard.... "Your blowing it kid, your blowing it" The inspirational speach that came in that fight, and the way Leonard came back to knock out the Hitman.

Judo... ah... my very very very first martial art. I had no interest in it at the time when I forced to do it as an activity. I remember winning a provincial tourney at 7 years old. Stopped after that. Ah well.

For me, definetely Erik Paulson.
I'm not personally a student of his, but he conducted a seminar at my gym last year and it was fuckin excellent. he really knows his shyt, and yes he taught as like 5 different chicken wing variations lol. he was such a nice guy, and like, when he walked in, i was like. whoah, thats erik paulson, he's one of the best trainers/fighters ever. He's fought carlos newton, and was the shooto champion. It was like "omg omg erik paulson"
But yeah he was such a cool guy. I really enjoyed the seminar, but yeah he's probably my personal inspiration. Other inspirational trainers would be Randy Couture, and my main man Enson Inoue. ^^;

My first submissionwrestling instructor. A great guy who I connected with without any problem. Not a "tough-guy attitude" that thing doesn't really push me further.

Good to see another Kiwi!
I actually trained alongside of Eddie the Heat before I left for Thailand. ET was initially trained at the Lee Gar city gym in Auckland. I will add some to the Lee Gar name as zenzoken must be at Albany Lee Gar am I right.
Philip Lam, Lollo Heimuli, Peter Leech, Pathai, Summonom, Jom Bing, Fanta, Namsuk, I could go on for ever!
Here is a few pics of Eddie and Lollo. These are from eddie fighting Daniel Tai (Jordan Tai's oldest brother, enjoy!

Thanks for the pictures Kiwi Sting.
Yes I train primarily at Albany, although I do my sparring at the city gym.
Do you still train here?

No, I retired many years ago and right now I live in Nakhon Phanom, Thailand. I come home almost every summer with my kids but there are hardly any fights on. Good to know there are some Kiwi's ripping up the web.
Choppa has a fight coming up with Yodkhunsuk right?
Choppa will walk through him but he is a hard little fighter. I wish I could see that one.

Yes that will be a hard fight. I heard that Yodkhunsuk is number 6 at Lumpinee? Choppa is looking great at training and after his last MAX performance he is hungry for a win.
I am also having my first fight on that night so I am very excited! :D

Definitely Chris Franco. I've had other trainers, but Chris is the only guy I've trained under who cares about all of his fighters.

My wrestling coach Timo inspired a lot of loyalty and willingness to push. He has a real passion for the port you can't help but respect. Same goes for Alex roque out of Calgary. He genuinely wants every one of his fighters to be the best, and he respects each and every person who walks into his training centre.
