View Full Version : Virgil Kalakoda Signed Picture Giveaway
( o Y o )
3rd July 2005, 04:59 AM
Virgil has been kind enough to sign 10 pictures for us to give away. This will be run exactly the same as the others have, so read the other threads or more importantly, this forums rules if you are not sure of how that is.
"Virgil Kalakoda: First Steps Towards the MAX Belt (http://kakutougi.info/content/view/161/2/)"
The photo is the same as that below, though obviously signed. I will replace the one below with a copy of the signed one once it has arrived.
A list of the ten will be posted the around the date of MAX. Probably the day before.
Good luck.

Hi Virgil,
It awsome to see a great boxer make the transition to K-1,and you did great in your debut, taking Kraus the distance, (which many fighters who have way more muay thai experience than yourself failed to do).
Im a young fighter(15) and I started muay thai after being an amatuer boxer so I really see how similiar we are.A photo of you would be a great inspiration in my goal of being a champion.
Im always going to root for you to win, photo or not and I cant wait to see you fight Sato.
Good luck with your career Virgil!
PS- Im a golfer too and recently competed in an amatuer tournament.Didnt to to well love the sport anyways.

Great interview.
Training with Masato will do Virgil and Masato a load of good for their upcoming fights, especially since Masato loves low-kicks and Virgil loves body punches.
I love the fact that he wants to face Zambidis. If he gets used to low-kicks a bit more, I think Zambidis would have a lot of trouble with Virgil. I really hope this match happens at the October/November MAX.

I think he will do well in the future, but if he had trouble with Kraus's low kicks, wait till he meets Sato.

Good luck in your fight with Sato, teach him some boxing! :p
As another young fighter (18 years), I'm quite inspired from your interview and would like to know more. From your interview, it's interesting to see that you've been a boxer with a knack for kickboxing.
I just made my amateur debut a few weeks ago in kickboxing. Unfortunately, I lost. However, I do plan to return to the ring under Amateur boxing rules in the fall (and eventually return to kickboxing).
Going the distance with Kraus, one of K-1's top fighters, is no easy task. You've got plenty of heart and fighting spirit. I'll watch for you. Hope to see you do well in the 2006 Tournament
GO VIRGIL!

Count me in. Any boxer throwing low kicks in his first low-kick inclusive fight is cool with me.

Just saw the fight against Kraus tonight, and i have to say Virgil did very well coming from a mostly boxing background. i was kind of suprised to read that in the interview. cant wait to see more of him in the future. taking kraus to a decision in your first fight is quite a feat. *croses fingers to win that pic* :)

I like this guy. I haven't seen the fight with Kraus, but from what I have heard he did great. He is a great fighter that has been added to K-1 MAX, I can see many exciting and hard fights including him. And I love he wants to face Zambidis.
Kakutougi: As most K-1 fans know, Steve is famous for his heavyweight fighters in K-1. Do you find yourself sparring with guys far bigger than yourself, or is there a lot of MAX size fighters there as well?
Virgil: I mostly spar with bigger guys. While I’m not trying to sound arrogant, the lighter guys can’t really take power punches from me. With the heavier guys I don’t have to hold back.
RESPECT.

I have to support anyone wanting to fight the likes of Zambo after just one fight, where he managed to take the x-champ the distance.

Virgil deserves respect for having the courage to enter MAX as a boxer.
I hope he continues to improve and I believe he will become a big name in MAX in the years to come.

Training with Masato?? That is soo cooooooooooool! And for Masato's camp to personally request you to spar with him really says something about you!
Good luck and all the best!

Get your stamina up this is where Sato excells.... and he has always had trouble with good boxers. So expect to see triple jabs and a shit load of front kicks until you get inside to slaughter em. I told you on the other thread I thought you deserved the Kraus decision. Good wishes, and I dream to get to your status in this event.
