Last year they had Ignashov, Leko and Bernardo on the card, so it was a bit better, but still, worth seeing...

Here they are in order of rankings up for grabs.
Peter Graham [16] vs. Petar Majstorovic [113]
Tony Gregory [43] vs. Ivica Perkovic [71]
Gary Goodridge [46] vs. Ante Varnica [Unranked]
Sergei Gur [48] vs. Ninel Ianculescu [Unranked]
Evgeniy Orlov [145] vs. Mladen Brestovac [Unranked]
Azem Maksukaj [135] vs. Dzevad Poturak [Unranked]
Sometimes two unranked fighters meet and there isn't enough information to tell if they are heavyweights or not.

Im really curious to see how Peter Graham will perform.
I kind of think that this is a test of where he stands, in my opinion he is a lot better then Majstorovic.

I liked the way Azem fought against McDonald at K-1 Scandinavia. Great fight.

Yeah, that was a good card. Dewey Cooper was also on it. Ignashov was having one of his auto pilot days though.

Ante Varnica beat Jerrel Venetiaan about a month ago, you should add him to your rankings.

Mario Princ fights in superleague so he's probably not a heavyweight :)

about Graham vs Majstorovic - i agree with you, but Majstorovic has a rare ability to make his opponents look worse than him with his defensive style of fighting
(if we agree first - that defensive style of fighing exists in kickboxing)

He's better allright. Majstorovic loses almost all of his K-1 bouts, even against C-fighters.

Solid card, I always like seeing Graham and Gur.
K-1power is right, It seems like Peter has never won a K-1 fight.

man, i wouldnt underestimate Majstorovic, especially against a guy like Graham he has good chances to snap of a win + where did this: he loses almost all of his K-1 bouts come from...sue he is not an A-Class fighter, but he is better than a lot of guys out there

varnica won by 2-1 majority decision, varnica was clearly better in the 1st round, the second round was pretty much tied, then varnica gassed and venetiaan dominated in the 3rd, and judge decision could went in either way.
(fight happened under K-1 rules on May the 7th in Split - Croatia, as Superfight on Croatian National Thai&Kickboxing Champioship)

One last question. Were elbows allowed during the match?
bbbmarc

fight was under pure K-1 rules - that's what i know, but most be honest i didn't see whole fight just a few so called HL-clips - so i'm not 100% positive about using elbows

Can someone clear a thing ? Who organized this event ? Word has reached in my place that it was Harry Gorrian. If so, irrespective of the things stated with plus or minus about Gorrian, it was a bit preposterous to believe that K-1 people will allow fighters under management and/or contract with various K-1 circuits to fight in his show, because the war between the K-1 people and Gorrian is already an old issue. Gur (who was supposed to fight the Romanian newcomer) is under Igor Iushko's management, I really doubt it'd have worked so simple. So who's actually the promoter ?

Orsat Zovko organized the event, he is FEG/K-1 partner for years, so far he organized a number of very good events in Croatia, elsewhere in Europe, and in New Zeeland, but it's blurry why he cancelled the whole thing - Zovko said that he cancelled it cause Big Daddy didn't came, then he decided to cancel whole thing - cause as he stated; he'll rather lose money (around 100.000 euros) than his reputation.
<LOL - i can't find the newspaper now to translate his interview>
but he added something like that the last he needs is to be compared to Harry Gorian, and that he suspects that someone paid Goodridge not to come in Zagreb

Oh god. Then it's rather the opposite. Well, it's a sad thing that such a good card had to be put on hold, and that there are such things underneath. So it's the same promoter who organized the thing when NZ team came some couple of ys. ago - that looked as a very good event. Sorry for the confusion (sometimes rumors are incredibly distorting things). And hopefully it will finally go to a good end :)

Yes, it was the same promoter.
But this shit was the stupidest thing ever. To cancel the whole show, just because Big Daddy wasn't coming... c'mon!!
Varnica - Big Daddy was going to be a great fight no doubt (no way this was going to the second round), but it was a good show never the less, and canceling the whole thing was just the lowest thing ever... I'm beyond pissed.
Damn !!!
P.S.
I really hoped that Varnica would show his potential in this fight. He is a very aggressive fighter and a very good one (not to mention that he is sort of a local hero here in Split) and I am 100% sure that he would knock out GG in the first.

Really was stupid reason to cancel because of Big Daddy, i guess there was something other for problem..
