I guess Nord impressed FEG against Remy.

Nice to see Rickard Nordstand again, he did very well against Bonjasky. He could be able to squeeze out a decision against Musashi if he fights well and there are unbiased judges ringside.

Nordstrand vs Musashi is a good matchup.

With US judges, Musashi could be in trouble.

I'm not sure how that fight will turn out. Neither fighter is a huge knockout artist. It's a toss.

Why a rematch between Choi and Akebono ? even if Akebono is fresher he probably will be knocked out in the first.
Also, I dont get it if Bonjasky loses in the eliminations and he is supposed to be in the final anyway, how will there be a 9 men final ?

Ohh, looking forward to see Nordstrand fight again. He surely has improved since last years K-1 Scandinavia. Although he needs to gain 10 pounds or so. I cant see how Musashi can take a decision against Nordstrand - nor how he might knock him out. If its a decision - Nordstrand, fighting as aggressive as he normally do, will win.

Why a match with Akebono at all? Seriously, K-1 wants him in there, he should for his own sake get some serious hard training for a year or two and then give it another shot. Just to stop embarassing himself. I say "get training" but I don't know if it's the training, lack of dedication to training, or something else. I'd hate to bog down on his physique and I'd be fine with his physique if he could use it, but after a year and whatever, I expect it to somewhat be adapted to the training and adjusted to standup fighting, but it doesn't seem that way and that's why I start questioning his training. Not checked the TV ratings, but maybe his fights still draw a lot of viewers.

what do you mean here? he automatically goes to the final 8. he will probably have a superfight against some cheeseball at the final eliminations like last year.

Last year was the first time ever a GP winner has auto qualified for the next GP. They haven`t announced whether that`ll be the case this year too or not.

Great to see Rickard Nordstand get some respect for his last, last minute showing. I kind of feel sorry for Kruth though.

One thing is for sure, we cannot bitch that K-1 aren't trying out some new blood this year.

Akebono....pfft. But Musashi vs Rick will be nice. I just hope we don't see a running Musashi.
I guess if he loses though they can always blame the shoddy judging in the US. ;)

Does this give anyone else the giggles?
Akio Mori [1] vs. Rickard Nordstrand [186]
Hon Man Choi [241] vs. Chad Rowan [242]
If not, here you go.
Q: Why don't cannibals eat clowns?
A: They taste funny.

CentralKickboxing.Org have u seen the fight between Nordstrand and Bonjasky?

No. But I did hear he did very well. My previous post is not to disparage him. I just think the numbers would not look good on a poster. Mostly, the Choi-Rowan match is getting a lot of ink for a match between two guys who aren't even in the top 200.

It really confuses me to see what the attraction of Akebono is?
I mean we all know Japanese fans like some people who are unusally big or strange personality, but Akebono is just really boring.
Hes about as exciting as watching paint dry. In and out of the ring.

Actually, Watching Paintdry is #245 on my list.

keeping akebono in K1 circuit is veryyyyyyyy very stupid.
Even my girlfriend would win by decision over him.
And I really confirm he is sooooooo boring, tiring.....
well... I think we all agree on that but K1 org. Reason = ?????

Sumo is a 300 year old sport. Japanese don't plan for a year. They plan for 25 years. In 25 years, Japanese will be able to look back and see a Yokozuna getting wiped out repeatedly. No "lucky punch" excuses.
To be frank, Akebono has nothing to do with us. He is for your kids to use as a history reference point.

Sumo and K-1 just don't fit. It was an interesting experiment to see Akebono once or twice in K-1, but he will never be good. When you are heavy like he is, you are SERIOUSLY handicapped ...
