Say what you want about Sapp, but Greco has done a decent job with him for sure.

He has not retired as such, but he carrys MANY injuries, and particularly damaged shins from Kyokushin and K-1 fights. Not to mention a knee that has been surgically reconstructed once or twice.

I still have to see the fights, but say what you wanna say about Sapp. I'm already impressed with him winning a tournament. You can rank the Japanese fighters as B fighters if you'd like, but I think they're just as good if not better than many of the participants in the Las Vegas/France/Scandinavian event (some of them even were in those tournaments) and most of them are still improving. Not to mention that Sapp himself hasn't fought for quite a while he still did good and took the thing. Sapp will never be a technician but with his somewhat new found composure and improved kicking - all thanks to Greco, of course - he will remain a force. He might be the first person in the freakshow hype, but I feel like he's on a different level than the other freakshows, except maybe for Choi who - hate it or love it - shows progress. At least those two took out other freaks (Akebono, Wakashoyo, Gamlin and so on). But as said before, after I've watched the fights I can comment on it more properly.

Greco is one guy I would not like to piss off so I can see how he would do well as a teacher.

what we saw was a Bob Sapp that was serious about fighting. maybe he has found that he does enjoy fighting, and can do well with proper preperation and training. who better to seek than Sam Greco? Props to Sapp for coming in prepared and serious.

All in all this could become a great year for K-1 :)
Schilt back and better than ever
Feitosa at its best (his fight against hoost last year already showed that he improved a lot)
Choi not as bad as it could have come ;) (he is young so I hope he takes his time to improve)
a legendary Superfight between the two Frenchmen
Sapp with technique and strategy (who expected this? I guess nobody did)
Leko's (maybe) Return (and after his great KO Win we an expect a lot)
most less disposal for the elimination slots ever
the only slops this year so far are the two 'next generation fighters' Iggy and Carter (although I believe Iggy never looked so great as he did in Paris after training with Sefo)

I have to agree there. His punching was very nice, crisp and powerful. I think he would have gone far if he had movement (footwork) to go with it.

True, he looked motivated, but just had bad luck with the injury

Thats good to hear.
I missed the Paris GP when it was on tv so I didnt see his performance.
However I worry that his injury might take many months to improve as he has just had surgery.

Injuries or not, I want to see Greco get in the ring once more against Aerts.
