Thoughts on this?

Personally I`m of mixed feelings.

Fight 1 Silva destroyed Saku.

Fight 2 was much closer and that choke was in tight. The way it ended is similar to Naka vs Hendo, Mirko vs Josh etc.

Fight 3 Saku stuck to his gameplan and got KTFO right when he hit 5 minutes which was when he planned to take it to the ground. He stood and traded better than a lot of fighters have though.

Silva is in another class, and hugely confident. Saku is injured and is at a huge mental disadvantage. I don`t expect saku can pull it off.....and don`t even really want to se it, but if he could win, and retired then and there.....what a career it`d be.

Silva seems to be getting better and better with ever fight while Sak well isnt, I for one really dont see anyway for Sak to win this one. Who knows though stranger things have happend.

I don't have any mixed feelings about this at all.

Unless you count dread, horror, discomfort and worry as mixed feelings.

I really don't want this to happen at all. At this stage of his career and life, Sakuraba really shouldn't be fighting Silva.

I don't want to see this fight happen.
I still think Sak did considerably well in the second fight but judging from his recent performances (esp. the one vs. Lil' Nog) I just can't see him perform at that level anymore.
And as a big Sak fan I don't want to see him getting mauled by Silva at the end of his career.

It's like watching a car accident or something.

I will probably cry if Sakuraba gets seriously hurt.

I don't know why they have put Sak against Silva (again). There's no way that Sak can beat Wand, why don't the matchmakers of Pride understand that. IMO, they should put Silva - Hendo and Sak - Kondo , because Kondo doesn't stand a chance against Hendo. If these fights were on, I would say => best card ever made ;)

He's so brave. He must have something up his sleeve... right? =\

Sleeve or not, Saku has balls of steel to do this. Particularly as this was only matched up after Tamura turned him down, so it is not like Saku was preparing for anothing Silva fight.

Saku doesn't even have the right to be in the ring with Silva. He is in no way qualified to fight the champ (non-title bout or not) and has done nothing to deserve a THIRD rematch, after losing the original fight and the next 2 rematches in decisive fashion.

I'm a saku fan, but lets call it as it is.

I think is a bit too much to say that Saku doens't have the right to fight Silva even in a non-title bout. I am one who doesn't like Saku very much (ready to be flamed) and actually I don't think he is a warrior just to ask for Silva again, I would call this more obsession and desperation than warrior spirit, but at same time I think that being a professional fighter he deserves to be there as much as anyone else. A guy who tapped Rampage and Randleman deserves to fight anyone.

well, this is the way I see it....

Next wand match - 2-1 since his last match with wand, 4 - 5 since his first wand fight... doesn't deserve a rematch.
Win Antonio Schembri
Loss Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
Win Kevin Randleman Submission
Loss Wanderlei Silva KO (Punch) - lost 2 out of his last 3 fights..... doesn't deserve it, but its in GP...
Loss Antonio Schembri TKO (Knees)
Win Gilles Arsene
Loss Mirko Filipovic
Loss Wanderlei Silva - didn't deserve a rematch YET.... but anway...
Win Quinton Jackson
Loss Wanderlei Silva - 1st match, deserved it

Sak came closest to beating Silva in the second match but IMO his strategy in the third match, basically to stand and trade with Wanderlei and just look for an opening to take him down was stupid.
