EVERYTHING about Bob Sapp is big. His laugh is big, his personality is big, his zest for life is big.

Physically he is pretty big too. Standing 2m tall and weighing in at 187kg, Sapp is a man mountain. But there is one thing that dwarfs the man and his personality – his profile in Japan.
"I always say only in Japan can a man nicknamed the Beast, at 180 kilos, be considered a sex symbol," he laughs. "There would be no way in the States. It would be like, 'dude you weigh almost 200 kilos, they call you the Beast for a reason'."

Serious number of inaccuracies in there, most of which could very easily have been checked with a little judicious use of Google. Just a couple:

"Sapp started his career as a first round draft pick in the NFL for the Chicago Bears. By his own admission, a mix of injuries and lack of opportunity cut his football career short." - BWAHAHAHAHAHA at that one. Sapp was NOT a first round draft pick. When he got to training camp Sapp couldn't digest the playbook, had trouble figuring out which assignments were on his right and left hand sides and was cut from the team because, well, he was pretty awful.

"After his football career was over he headed for that dumping ground for ex-NFL players, World Championship Wrestling." - Erm, OK, well he actually did a toughman contest that featured ex-NFL players against indie pro wrestlers. That's how he got spotted by WCW and he was briefly at their 'Power Plant' training facility. He did literally a handful of matches for NWA Wildside, a small promotion that WCW used as a feeder company. He NEVER did a match for WCW at all. And only a tiny percentage of WCW's roster was ex-NFL players. Off the top of my head there was Bill Goldberg and, at roughly the same time, Steve McMichael. And Kevin Greene did ONE match for the company and that was during his active NFL career.

While you are 100% correct, it is an Australian story.....where we think American football is for the guys without the balls to play rugby, and wrestling for those that don`t want to get hit. :-p

In truth though, I was kinda annoyed at their mistakes and the fact Sam Greco got no props in the story....nor was there a write up on Sapp training in Melbourne etc

Fair comment, but with so many Sapp articles out there from 2002/03 and the availablity of stuff over the internet, thats just laziness. Also, is pretty surprising they totally left out all the relevant Greco/Melbourne stuff.

LMMFAO!!!!

Mothers side is French/Pommy....only 2 generations Aussie I think, fathers is pure Scottish until his father, so I`m a bit of a bitza (bits of everything), and get the bad parts of all........other than being a tight-ass (fincially speaking).
