Great, thanks.
Any idea why the doc stopped Weir? Cut?

Probably a good old fashioned beating up.
Lindland will most likely shoot for Anderson Silva or a rematch with Dave Terrell.
Rare case in which I say Anderson might be the safer opponent, as Terrell is probably the best grappler in America and has already KO'd Matt once. (He's beaten just about everyone.)
Anderson is still the best at that weight IMO, but I'd still like to see The Law go at it with Michael Jackson Dancing Spider-man.

"Michael Jackson Dancing Spider-man" is always a pleasure to watch ( other than post fight against Carlos lol ) so I have to agree. Watching The Law vs Silva would be a great match up as he`ll want another win before Terrell.

From CageWarriors:
"to the disgust of everyone, the doctor stopped the fight at the end of round 1 due to a nasty deep cut on weir. Lindland took weir down and controlled him with his usual game.
lindland won a sword; good luck getting that through customs matt! lol"
Sounds like Lindland got the clinch, took him down, worked the elbows and punches, then got the cut stoppage.
Standard TeamQuest... brutal, but effective.

to the disgust eh? Wonder if that means he was totally dominated or that it was an exciting fight.
Either way, Lindland was obviously effective.

I'm pretty sure everyone felt let down the hometown favorite got stopped by a cut. Noone wants the fight stopped after five minutes due to a cut.
At least Weir hasn't made any big complaints about the fight, I'm sure they both performed well.

too true. I guess I`m used to the hometown guy losing quick in Japan with little disgust ever shown. LOL
I just read it seems Lindland was in complete control the whole time they were on the ground.

Congrats Matt! From what I heard he was dominating Weir prior to the stoppage and it was an elbow that opened a cut on Weir's forehead.
Apparently afterwards Matt called out Lee Murray who was sitting in the audience and rumor has it they may be fighting at the next event...

Well... Murray stands no chance on the ground with Matt.
Give us Lindland vs. Silva! Winner goes after Terrell!

From CageWarriors.Com:
"Dodging the advancing Weir’s kick, he methodically worked his clinch against the fence before capitalising on Weir raising his knee to sweep him to the mat. Calmly working from inside Weir’s guard, Lindland peppered him with short punches and forearms, beginning the process of what many expected to be a “typical” Lindland decision victory. He looked a little more eager to do some damage tonight though, and was soon avoiding a desperate arm triangle attempt from Weir after over-reaching with an elbow. Lindland easily rode out to the end of the first round in clear control. A bloodied a frustrated Weir was further disappointed when the doctor waved it off due to a cut over his right eye.
Winner: Lindland by TKO (Doctor’s stoppage) 5.00 Rd 1
A predictable outcome, it was clear from the moment Lindland took Weir down that it just wasn’t his night. Weir looked upset over his loss, yet while he should obviously examine what he did wrong, he should be concerned over the cut. It was situated in the same spot as where David Lousieau and Jorge Riveria caught him, the latter being another stoppage loss due to the laceration.
While Weir nursed his wounds, Lindland had a little something to say to whom many regard as the UK’s top MW, and the jewel in Cage Rage’s crown, Lee Murray. Displaying some impressive mike skills Lindland challenged Murray to face him in February, telling him he’d shut him up once and for all.
An irate Murray rushed into the cage and a memorable smack-talking contest ensued with Lindland clearly emerging the winner. Drawing repeated laughs from the crowd, he poked fun at Murray calling him a monkeyboy and taunting him with a little monkey dance. “Want some peanuts, Monkeyboy?” he sang, prompting a peeved-looking Murray to launch a bottle of water over him. A showdown is pencilled in for February; keep an eye out for further details."

Looks like Weir could do nothing on the ground. No one to blame but himself.
Lindland should have no trouble with Murray IMO.

Same cut that stopped the Weir-Rivera fight, oh dear. Looks like he may be developing a nasty habit of cutting easily.
I was going to travel down for this one but work, money and Xmas meant that wasn't going to happen. I expected, and was hoping for a Lindland win and if he does fight Murray I'll make a huge effort to get to that one. I've never liked Murray's chances in a fight with 'the Law' but after the way David Terrell KO'ed him he'll always have a great punchers chance. Murray is a much better boxer than Terrell so it'll definitely be interesting.
As for the rest of the show - Babalu, Gilbert, Freeman, Silva and Daley winning aren't exactly surprising. Oliver and Bisping did well to win their fights though.

Do you think you can sort of give a "who's who" of some of the European fighters?
I know guys like Ian Freeman, Mark Weir, and Lee Murray, but I'm not familiar with most of the guys on the card.

I can give you some information on a few fighters. Let me have a look around in the next few days or so. I should be able to post a little information on a few of the guys I've seen. I don't really want to start talking about people I've only heard or read about. Also, I'm only really familiar with guys based in the UK. I'll put something together though.

Murray: Yououuuuuhhhh just ugly with youhhh big ears, youhhhhhhhhhhhhh need a wig!
Lindland: What? I guess half the crowd didn't understand what you were saying! (pretty bold to say when you're in London where half the population talks like that)
(some laughs)
Lindland: I got a gorgeous wife who just loves to grab hold of these (while showing of his ears)
I like Lindland, using yourself for being funny takes courage. :)
From what I've seen it was another great event.
