I see Takeuchi becoming MW champion down the line. And damn does Sato losing ever suck. Hope he still gets to fight Minoru Suzuki someday.

You mean 'the' Minoru Suzuki, as in one of the Pancrase originals? Sorry if I'm being really thick here but I'm not aware of any other fighters with that name. Or if he's just announced a comeback and I missed it but.........

........... If it is the original you're referring to then I think you're going to be disappointed. Given just how many severe concussions he's had I'm pretty certain he won't fight full Pancrase rules ever again. I believe he quit on medical advice and is now happily working for New Japan, doing a really cool MMA submissions and lightning fast matwork kind of style that no other pro wrestler really does. Given his medical condition he really doesn't take many suplexes, or hard shots anywhere near the head either. He was given a shot at the IWGP title a couple of weeks ago and by the sounds of it had a really good match (I haven't got the tape yet so can't confirm that).

But enough rambling. If you want to see Suzuki (and he was alweays one of my favourites) I think you're going to have to develop a taste for puroresu.

Anyone know if Nozawa is OK? He looks seriously KTFO in that pic.

Yes, FieldingMellish. I was talking about the Minoru Suzuki. They set up an angle a while ago that ended in a scuffle between Sato and Suzuki. Sato challenged Suzuki to a fight (he challened Barnett earlier as well, so ;P) considering Suzuki is booking most of these angles it's possible for him to return to a Pancrase ring once again. Suzuki has suffered from career threatening injuries like a herniated disk, which didn't stop him (he was adviced back then to quit, but didn't) and well countless others. He never ruled it out in the fist place.

Interesting. Didn't know about the Sato angle. Thanks for the info. I'm still doubtful it'll come off as so many angles take place in Japanese pro wrestling/MMA that are done just to get the crowd buzzing there and then but don't actually lead to anything. And I'm not really sure how Suzuki would do in MMA these days - what with the long layoff, the number of concussions and other injuries he's had. I get the nasty feeling if he did fight it might be a case of a legend coming back only to get brutally beaten up. I haven't seen much of Sato though so how do you think it would go if they did fight?
