Tom vs Akebono is an interesting idea, but I'd personally like to see Tom vs Fujita.

I spoke to "Big Cat" quite a bit at the TITANS event and he mentioned wanting to fight Akebono and a couple of other fighters. The main impression was though, he simply wants to get in the ring again soon, particularly with more than 2 or 3 days notice.
I was surprised at how nice a guy he really was. He was great with fans, taking numerous photo's, signing everything........picking up kids and ladies to take photo"s, turning down no one. He actually seemed to enjoy it himself too.

Sounds like he really wants "in" and with the amount of fighters needed around New Years Eve hopefully he`ll get his shot.

Yeah Tom is quite the people person. Its not as fun getting picked up by him when you are wrestling you usually end up a little mauled.

tom is a cool cat.
it is great that he scored that KO over nortje but he let a great opportunity slip by in his approach to the briggs fight.
akebono is an interesting match up but meaningless to fight fans.

i dunno. just curious why it never happened. i know tom has been struggling to get any type of fights since even when this thread was made. and the way he has been handled in the fights he did get, one with Akebono is right up his alley for a win.

Stupid request from Erikson.
He has much more to loose than to gain !
If he wins nobody will find that it will be a performance.
If he looses, he will be the only dude to have been beaten buy Akebono (except Kakuda, I still can't beleive he lost against him !!!)
