the stoppage was definitely premature, but when a guy turtles up and is being struck its usually not a bad idea to stop the fight.

^^ my thoughts too. He never tried to better his position or defend himself better so it is better to stop it than let him get injured. I mean, this was not someone like Nog getting knocked down, but someone in his first ever fight where people were punching him

yeah I guess you're right there oyo. it's just i dunno, lately it feels like pride ref's step in way too early with stoppages. like, compare igor/bueno (thiink thats the one..) and then you look at a stoppage on like the latest events, igor vs takahashi, or even mirko vs coleman, i dunno, to ME those fights just looked a bit prematurely stopped. like coleman barely took anything, and just fell.. fair enough, but takahashi only got a backfist.

I dunno, just seems way too early for me. but maybe im too much of a sadist.

I don't know how you could say that Igor vs. Takahashi was stopped early, he was out before he hit the canvas, how much punishment do you want him to take?
