I guess this pretty much removes any doubt from his abilities and whether or not he is genuine.

He may not be, or may never be the best, but after subbing someone like Hunt, and more importantly going the distance with Silva, twice (yeah, I know styles make fights, but 5 rounds with Silva and not being finished is rather unique), I think he has at least earnt the right to be looked at as legit.

I second that, Yoshida is the man and now nobody can deny it

oh most definitely...i thought he did an awesome job at TE 03 and yet again comes w/ a great performance last night. i wish he didn't have to fight silva in the first round. oh well, nakamura is still in the game...he impressed me as well.

Yoshida is good but honestly, I dont think he deserved that split decision. This match was all Wanderlei, even if Yoshida did a great first round

How could it be all Wanderlei if Yoshida won the first round which is the longest round?

He didn't do so bad in the third round either.

I'll agree with you that Silva did win but it was CLOSE!

First of all if im not misstaking pride doesnt judge by rounds and eaven if they did winning a single round still wouldnt be enough to win the fight in that judges opinion.. lets pretend they judged by rounds in that case one of the judges must have had yoshida as winner of 2 rounds to give him his vote right?

Anyway i thaught yoshida did good and proved he aint an easy oponent but a serious competitor that said i think yoshida stalled quite much on the ground just holding without going for anything at all.

A bit of stalling or not, I cannot think of any other fight that has gone the distance with Silva twice.

And while Yoshida is the blame for a lot of the ground stalling, Silva was way to careful IMO, and was no where near the agresive fighter he usually is. He really didn`t do very much himself.

Exactly! Thats why I wasnt surprised it was a split decision. Silva wasn't attacking much like he did against Rampage or even Hunt.

I gotta give credit when due...Yoshida is one tough mofo....there is nothing you can take away from this guy and an (oYo) states, "I cannot think of any other fight that has gone the distance with Silva twice".....that makes two of us.

Yosh is definitely a TRUE, proud and tough fighter!
Only pure striker like CC or Overeem could stop him imo.

I noticed silva looked way smaller then usual and got it confirmed by his weigh in weight it was something like 201 if im not misstaking. Normally silva comes down from 220-230 as he has stated himself but that cauldnt have been the case now. On the us ppv they eaven discussed it some that he had lost alot of muschles in the upper body.

Any ideas about this? why?
