How much do you get on average per night,
How much do you feel "good" on?
And how much do you need to be operational?

I usually sleep 7.5-8h a day and it is enough for me to operate normal.
But when I train and don`t have school or need to survive saturday night I like to take a little afternoon nap(1-1.5h)

7 hours. Doesn't make me feel good. I need 8 hours. However, I gotta be relaxed when I go to bed and lay there with a calm mind or I'll wake up even more exhausted. Like thinking about things to do the day after usually messes me up. I could sleep 8 hours but without being relaxed when going to bed, I'm pretty much done the night after. Taking a nap around 17:30 is great. Just 20 minutes helps out a lot. Problems falling asleep relaxed, a few rounds of sparring during the day is great medicine for clearing the mind. I can bike and gym and everything, but still not go to sleep relaxed. It cause nothing alerts my senses like sparring. You're in there with all senses turned on, and it's just a peaceful, aware state of mind afterwards with a relaxed body. All work and no play just builds up stress in the muscles and they get no release. Lifting weights builds up stress for me, too, cause it is stressful. I'm relaxed when fighting, so it's really a cleansing experience. I recommend it for insomniacs.

I generally am lucky to get about 4.5 hours from Monday to Friday, though need much more. I do manage to catch 10 to 30 minute sleeps once or twice a day on trains though, so it takes the edge off things.
Generally, 7 hours and I am functional and friendly.
8-10 and I`m in heaven.
I seem to suffer the same way as Satan too. When I go to bed if I am not purely relaxed, dead tired, or drunk....I`ll just look at the ceiling for hours, no matter how little sleep I have had in the day(s) before. My work week will be having a few changes to it over the next couple of weeks though so I plan on trying to do something to turn things around.

I usually gotta get up at 8am. So usually I get to bed at 12am-2am, so between 6-8hrs for me.
I have been listening to relaxation music on my ipod in bed and have been dozing off quickly lately..

I`m a binge sleeper. Very little during the week, but try and stock up on it over the weekend.

During school days i usually go to bed around 12 am, and wake up about 7.30-8.00 am.
But during weekends and especially now during holidays i go to bed around 4 am and wake up at around 3 pm :). That gives me enough time to eat, dress wake up a bit and then go to training at 5 pm.

I wish I didnt have to sleep.
There's just so much to do out there, so I feel sleeping is a waste of time.
Although I must say I do enjoy the process of sleeping, but again I wish I didnt
have to. That being said, 7 hours of sleep is a luxury for me.

Usually about 6 hours of proper sleep a night through the week. Usually from about 1am to 7am. I might go as high as 8 at weekends. I hate sleeping on the wekkends since I have so many more interesting ways to waste my time.
I'm OK on 6 hours, though it does take me ages to actually get out of bed, maybe 40 minutes sometimes where I'll lie there and doze a little until I finally haul myself up. I tend to feel a little tired everyday but it doesn't bother me too much.

haha, lol :p.
I normally need 8 hours but I'd rather sleep in than do something I really like. When I get less I'm not necesserily cranky but the day just sucks.
I guess I like sleeping in more than anything else. Waking up without an alarm clock or something is one of the best feelings on this planet :).
Satan is very right on the training aspect. Two weeks ago I had training the night before an important test I had the following moring. I'm always worried sick about screwing exams and I thought of skipping my Jiu Jitsu and study instead. When I cycled home after training I realized that it was the best thing I could have done.
I also have a secret weapon hidden in a box next to my bed in case I cannot sleep. :)

I only ever get about 6 hours, I have serious sleeping problems though, I can NEVER go to sleep until after about 3 hours in bed. I think I operate pretty well though when I dont get to much sleep, still I wish I could get more.

6-7 hours on average. 8 is just about right. If I sleep more than 9 hours I wake up with a headache.

Humans are stupid compared to Giraffes they sleep for like 6 minutes a day. Sleeping is useless though it is one of my hobby's :) In the morning I can't get out bed, and at night I can't get in. I sleep usally between 7-10 hours a day, it depends.
