I don't want to sound negative and such but both title fights could be quite disappointing I guess.
Evans has the tendency to prance around (as Mellish puts it) and with Mir you can't really say wether he'll pull of something brilliant or has his face pounded into a pulp because he really likes that leglock...

Really dont like Wand/Rampage 3 at this point. Fair enough when Rampage was champ, he had the right to try and get one back and it would be a 5 rounder. Now Rampage is coming off a loss and mental health scares and it will be 3 rounds. If Rampage gets a 3 round decision due to takedowns, that doesnt prove he is the better fighter even though he will think it does. Seems to me UFC want to knock one of the ex-PRIDE guys down the ladder a bit by having this fight now, Silva is coming off a big win, a loss would hurt him and a loss for Rampage could send him over the edge.
Silva Rampage 3, Herring Nog 3, Sonnen Horn 3, Ortiz Shamrock 3; were any of these needed?

Both guys have their backs to the wall which makes it interesting, but I do sort of agree with what you're saying. I personally would rather have seen Rampage fighting Thiago Silva and Wanderlei facing Machida for the #1 Contender's slot or something.

I'm looking forward to all 3 fights. Do any of them come close to the magnitude of Wand/Chuck for last New Year's Even bout? No. But I think all 3 are meaningful fights with significant implications, and all 3 have good chances to be entertaining. Can't ask for more than that.

the real main event on that show was silva/machida and if that fight had stayed on the card i would say that next weeks card is very solid...

+1
TOTALLY AGREE.
I think that, overall, this card is materializing into a better card than last years NYE. I only remember Wand v Chuck from last year. GSP v Hughes didn't do much for me and IMO shouldn't have been the main event.
It's safe to assume that Nog v Mir will be the co-main event to Forrest v Rashad. And I'm strangely comfortable with that.
But all three of these fights have great potential.

Vera/Jardine should be interesting as well.

I don't know about you guys but Wand vs Rampage 3 is a lot more exciting to me than Chuck vs Wand.
I really want to see how Rampage holds together.

I would agree with you, if this had come before all Rampage's troubles, and perhaps even when he still held the belt. Rampage at the top of his game vs Silva in the UFC would have been the thing to see.
Having said that, Rampage/Silva 3 is still an interesing one, and in the cage for the first time. Worth a look no doubt.

In his present state of mind, I don't think Rampage has a chance. Few months back this could have been a great fight.
