according to this...

http://mmajunkie.com/news/5296/quinton-jackson-preparing-for-ufc-91-fight-with-wanderlei-silva.mma

i don't know if this is a legit source.

IMO, if this fight does happen at UFC.91.... it will make the Randy v Brock match seem boring. just my opinion and i could be wrong.

talk about ghosts of past trauma for rampage! they should institute a special 'pride rules' clause for this match. give wanderlei the whole arsenal.

I'd pay money to see this fight.

i paid to see the last one

would love to see a Vale Tudo rules match w/ no time limit---now that would be a HUGE match...

imagine quinton w/ knees/ Elbows, and headbutts

but then again...Wanderlei would have all those + the Dreade flying Stomp/Soccer kick of Doom combo

Silva is a vale tudo veteran, with those rules Silvas chances would go up against anybody.

Good points on the time/rules influencing this fight. Three five minute rounds is NOT enough man, i think this will be an advantage for Rampage. But if/when Silva gets Rampage to the ground, the elbows will be epic.

Should be a good fight. No doubt both fighters will be training their asses off for it. Another wildcard will be Rampage's training with the Wolfslair now....will be interesting to see what aspects of the game they emphasize (well, besides boxxing) for Quinton during camp.

It will be an intense stare down since Rampage seem to favor the angry tough guy style once again... and Wanderlei will laugh at him.

UFC rules stipulate, that it's a foul when a fighter is "Engaging in an unsportsmanlike conduct that causes an injury to an opponent"; watching those Wanderlei-Rampage matches are off putting , the ref should have stopped them earlier; (soccer) kicking a man who's down and barely conscious or what looks like keeping an unconscious man on his feet and keep kneeing his face looks horrible... admittedly MMA is a hard sport but the aim should not be to cause permanent damage, or disregard the safety of the opponent. at least how I see it.

So I hope Rampage wins.

Um...they have never fought in the UFC (against each other).

PRIDE Rules stipulated: "Thou shaly smash, kick and pummell your opponent until Yakuza say stop."

Its in the PRIDE FC handbook, under "Chapter 3, Amendment 6.76: The Smash Clause".

somehow I suspect there are not that many participants of the sport who miss soccer kicks, or stomps - maybe Wand - in contrast to some spectators ...

maybe more arsenal could perhaps be allowed against a shooting opponent but otherwise UFC rules are fine with me.

PRIDE rules, UFC rules.....I could give a damn. These are two of the sports finest competitors and they will deliver a great fight, everytime.
