I don´t know how many of you that have heard of Alexander Gustavsson (http://sherdog.com/fighter/Alexander-Gustavsson-26162) but his win this weekend showed he might be the next Scandinavian in the big leagues. He is only 21 years and seem to have very bright future. It will be very interesting to follow him the next years.
This is what Sherdog wrote: "Swedish madman Alexander Gustavsson flew in on the day of the event with less than 24 hours’ notice to take on co-headliner Krzysztof Kulak. After taking a short nap in the locker room, the Shooter from Stockholm was more than awake in the ring and dominating the standup.
In the second round he proved why they call him “The Mauler.” Gustavsson systematically beat down his opponent from top position and came close to several one-punch knockouts on the feet to score a huge upset by unanimous decisio" And Kulak is no joke. The polish MMA-fans on here might have more info on him than I.

Hansen :middlefin
Like i said before, it seems nobody really cares that he became LW DREAM Champion but currently he's definalty in the top 5 of LW, maybe even 3

And I don´t think we have seen the end of Kampmann just yet. It was a really tough fight for him, coming back from a year lay-off etcetera.

Hansen should be THE favorite among hardcore fans and general audience alike. His fights are always great and he combines brawling with technique like no other.

I have no doubt he is very liked among the fans, i just have somehow the feeling that he probably doesn't get the credits he deserve after winning the DREAM Title. But i could be entirely wrong, im not THAT much into MMA at the mo. I acutally would like to see some "reliable" rankings of the LW Division, if someone would post some, thanks.

You can figure out your own rankings and they're pretty much as reliable as anyone elses :evillaugh

It has a lot to do with the fact that DREAM LW GP ended in a bit of an anti-climactic way, as Hansen was a reserve. And he has far too many losses on his record for some people, in fact, many people, for whom that kind of stuff is somehow so damn important.
I'm glad that MMA events are organized so "recklessly" that it's a bit hard to create a myth of a fighter. But that's not exactly good from the business point of view, at least in the long run, as many people actually want that.
It's just too hard for many to put Hansen at the center of the whole picture, I guess. After all these years, they still don't know how to deal with it.

Keeping the it alive :-)
Short update:
Gustavsson went to face Pedro Quetglas on The Zone FC (former EVT - European Vale Tudo more or less). Quetglas former wrestler and now an accomplished standup fighter with lots of routine (European Champ in kickboxing with a record of 17-3, participated in two K-1 events and 12-1 in boxing) was hit in the first series of punches and never recovered. Gustavsson followed up the initial knockdown with furious GnP and Quetglas corner threw the towel two minutes into the fight. (I will post a video as soon as they release one).
Gustavsson next fight will be against Alexey Oleinik. A fight which will take place in IAFC "Russia against the world" in Novosibirsk next weekend. The fight will be a heavyweight fight unlike the previous ones for Gustavsson and that is probably because Oleinik right now weighs 105kg/220pounds.

Cheers for the info. I remember his fight from the first Zone FC torrent that they released. He looked really aggressive, certainly has lots of potential. Do you know what he weighs seese? I seem to remember him looking a bit on the skinny side for 93kg let alone heavyweight.

I think he walks around at 95-100kg normally.

Some way to go until he'll reach the European top-10 or 20, but he's young so he has time to work on the weaknesses.
