Whoa, then he'll fight in France at the end of the month? Good luck to him, I'm sure he has a great chance of winning both and I hope he does.

In order for him to win he'll have to go through Pete Spratt and Mike Zambidis.... this is a tough tournament.

I might be wrong but for some reason I think the Turkey show might be canceled. I sent an email to the promoter just to get some clarity, since I have both events on my calander.

The above link seems like a ticket master type of company, it clearly states the even it cancelled. But then again who knows it might be a misprint.

That's not Prince Amir as in Amir Shafipour, is it? The Iranian kickboxer who fought in Australia quite a bit?

I think he retired a couple years ago......Be interestin if he's making a comeback, although he won't win the tournament.

Well he is Iranian.I know nothing about him fighting in Australia but I know that he is Persian for sure.He gives private lessons in Istanbul.

So have the shows been cancelled or not?

Solak claims he is having a A-1 tournament in Las Vegas as well sometime this year....

Interesting....I don't know if it's the same guy, though, as the one who lived in Australia for a while was still there last year and had started promoting shows last I heard.

But who knows, it could be the same guy. Maybe he moved.......The one who fought in Australia went up against guys like John Hallford, Daniel Dawson, Chris Allen, Scott Bannan, etc.....He also fought in the first K-1 Max Oceania tournament, beating Jenk Behic in the first round but losing to Mike Cope in the semis.

Also, Shafipour was promoted by Tarik Solak, the Turkish promoter in Australia who has been the promoter of Zambidis & Yilmaz.

That would be cool as hell, but I don't know if it's realistic unless he totally limits the fighters as mainly being from North America. Otherwise, the travel expenses alone would be a killer.

I was thinking more along the lines of names like A-1, Solak, and Zambidis would be meaningless to most americans...

Ghodrat

Well, if you think about it, the vast majority of names in the kickboxing world itself are meaningless to most Americans.
