Hey guys, we're just waiting to see if Ray is fighting Marvin again, K-1 wants it to happen which is fine with Ray, and the proposed date is none other than the upcoming Vegas tournament. Hopefully things go a bit smoother after the fight this time :)

Yeah, this time Ray will KTFO of him properly!
How much of a grudge match will they build this one up as?
Hope it happens.

ray is a pretty nice guy. he'll be pretty merciful and just KO eastman. if it were me, i'd drag the bum into the third round with body blows and low kicks.

Sefo is gonna Goodridge Eastman.

This is a rematch I'd really like to see. And I think the audience wants it, considering how abruptly it ended last time. I smell a knockout.

Sefo is gonna Goodridge Eastman.
using a person's name as a verb. hmmm. usually i can guess the meaning but in this case, goodridge is an armwrestler so....

Haha I'm sensing some animosity here. What did he do, push in front of you in the grocery line? :D

1-eastman said that he wanted to break sefo's teeth in the prefight interview.
2- he got a very lucky break when the referee pulled sefo off him to inspect damage from a LEGAL strike. fight should have been stopped right there by the same commissioner who stopped the mo-carter fight.
3- wouldn't give props to sefo after the fight
4- attacked sefo and got the worst of it
5- posed proudly from every ringpost as sefo had to be escorted out of the ring
basically, he is a creep. nothing personal. i like to see all creeps get banged up.

LoL, Normally I'm not a great fan of Sefo's taunting but I hope he woohoo's him a lot :p and a Baroni style "hahahahahaha" (just saw ufc 37 and his fight against suloev) to his corner afterwards would also be appropiate.
But normally I'd disagree with this behaviour :D.

Youre right about that Felix, Eastman sure did handle that situation rudely.

Thinking about it now I actually feel a little shamed because fighter bashing is not one of my qualities. However if its any reconciliation, I was using it as an example of what will happen in the Sefo vs Eastman fight - and not on the general situation of Goodridges career.

Although Eastman did pretty well in his first bout with Sefo , he does not have much of a chance to win it. Sefo by KO. The skill level is too big.

I find this comment hillarious.
A rematch sounds great as the ending to their first fight was a bit unfortunate. I want to see a great brawl this time without controversy.

I am glad that this fight is a possibility because there is deffinetly unfinished business here. I like Sefo to win regardless of any extra motivation Eastman might have.

ray told me that he andhis team met up with the eastman and his team after the event in the hotel lobby. the eastman team seemed to want to ignore the sefo team and ray's team appeared to want to keep their distance too. ray then said to the nearest member, "this is silly." and approached marvin.
ray: marvin. i know you are disappointed but i just want to wish you the best with the rest of your career.
marvin: i never saw anything like that in the ring before.
ray: i didn't know until after the match that you were trying to touch gloves. i didn't even believe it until i saw the footage with my own eyes.
ray then wished marvin the best and offered his hand. marvin shook his hand and they parted.
the reason for this rematch is pretty clear in my mind. marvin will be very emotional and aggressive and give his home town fans a good show. the k-1 repeated states in rules meetings that they want the fighters to come out banging. win or lose they will pick gary goodridge over a better fighter like bajrami simply because they wants fights.

A good matchup for Sefo, Eastman can't hurt him and it will be another nice 1R KO in Ray's record. This time Marvin makes no excuses, he will lay flat when Ray will be celebrating the victory...

They just want an action-packed fight in Vegas. :-) Before was Sapp vs Kimo, Goodridge vs Hunt ... only Eastman vs Sefo lived up to what they've tried to achieve with their superfights in Vegas.

I expect no more bitching about the way their first fight ended.

Well, I wonder to which extent he did the bitching to insure there will be a rematch. Which under other circumstances doens't stand a chance to occurr - there are guys who dream to get such a match and they don't, being much more rounded than Eastman. I mean why not have a match with Mike Mac, with Mo, with Carter (well, ok, this year they are in the tournament and Mo is vs. Remy), but then also Seth Petruzelli (the man did well against Sapp prior to be accidented), or bunch of other guys for whom we might bet they will not be a walk in the park for Ray. Ray has been dangerous almost at the fullest extent later, so he doesn't need a military parade ! (That said, all respect for Eastman for being there, and it was a double mistake of the ref which spoiled the match - first not counting him for a PERFECTLY legal kick sweeping his eyem, then waiving him off before counting !)

I didn't say he's indecent. I just said that Sefo is way too much for him and that there are other diserving fighters in US who would much better receive this chance and they really worked hard for it. That's all.

31st March 2005, 12:24 AM
I think the only reason Eastman got the fight with Ray in the first place was that K-1 kindaowed him one after he got sent home from Japan by immigration for one of the Beast shows, where he is probably more in his element (somewhat skillful westerner here to get beat up by Japanese fighter).
He was not even on the card until just days before the event and Ray had had his oponent changed several times. The fight should have stopped when the highkick landed and Eastman stopped the fight. There are no standing 8 counts in LV and only the ref can call for a doc check stop, so the fight was won then.

This is a fight we need to happen.
Sefo will get the crowd in the US going like no one else, and when this fight ends cleanly (as the first did, if the ref had of noticed) then they should be more than pleased with his performance.
After another loss though, what the hell can Eastman do??? :)

Rays not fighting Marvin, apperently he turned the fight down; not surprised really. So we asked for Mushashi as he doesnt have anyone to fight at the moment. For obvious reasons I REALLY, REALLY want this fight to go ahead. A superfight with Mushashi has always been high on the agenda for Ray. No having to worry about the next fight like in a tournament, just 3 rounds of KO hunting. The only gripe I have is that I know Mushashi will just run the entire fight.

The only superfight I`d like to see Ray in more than against Musashi, is against Kakuda.
Hey, he DID just make a comeback and suffered no injuries against Akebono......he also has the added bonus of not yet having used the Rocky 5 speech. :-)

Who turned the fight down? Ray or Marvin?
If so a Musashi rematch would be just as good.

Lol, Eastman turned the match down, Rays never turned down a kickboxing fight in his life. :)

I cannot say I`m at all surprised Eastman doesn`t want any part of Ray again. He got beaten within the rules twice on one night, and then managed to gob-off enough to have him get beaten by some others after the fight. Not at all a good day out for him, and with a pumped up Sefo "wanting" to fight him....well, I`d be looking for an easier fight for myself considering his current K-1/MMA record too.

No worries mate. He wants to fight both of them again.

Damned, thats bad news. I guess Musashi knows when he is on a good thing and a record now of something like 2.5 years without a loss to anyone but in the GP finals is obviously more than he is willing to lose.

yeah both of those would be good. Although Musashi sucks to watch it would be great seeing him go down. But it would have to be 5 rounds.
Bring back the 5 round superfights!
looks like NO ONE wants to fight Ray.. Hope we don't have to wait too long.
