I want to stamp my name into Jiu-Jitsu once and for all, conquering more absolutes and sealing my position as the best heavyweight. Now my record at black belt includes golds in two absolutes and four categories, and before I'm thirty, I still have much to conquer. And I will surely be fulfilled when the World Championship is made professional in such a way that we can reach various segments of the media, and the absolute champion can make some good money, not just through prize money, but with sponsorship supporting a sport that reaches everybody.

A post-Mundials interview with Kron himself (http://www.graciemag.com/news/144/ARTICLE/10946/2008-06-22.html).

GRACIEMAG.com: And now what? Will you carry on teaching and training for upcoming competitions? When do you plan on fighting again?

Kron: I intend to fight in everything that pops up. If my sponsor agrees to pay my ticket, the next one I should fight in is the Jiu-Jitsu International in Rio de Janeiro (July 24-27). I’ll fight as a middleweight.

There is a new Sengoku column where the writer writes that Xande wants to fight at around 83 kg in MMA, wants to fight in Japan more than the US, and when told of Japanese fighters at that weight (Kondo, Misaki and Kikuta), he says that he wants to fight Kondo because he beat his brother in 2000. So maybe his debut will be in Sengoku.

Kondo definitely makes the most sense, and had been thrown around in rumours when he first announced his crossover.

Poor Kondo. Two absolute champions in a row? At least he'll have more of a chance against Xande, who is not keen a finisher as Roger. Although ironically he's been the closest to finishing Roger himself. (Triangle, as admitted by Roger.)

How is Kondo now in these days? I haven't seen him fight in sometime and I couldn't really judge him considering the size disadvantage with Roger. I kind of see him in the same boat as Sak these days....is that a fair judgement?

I'd say Sak still has some magic left in his tank. Kondo seems to be all but done in the higher echelons. A far cry from two wins over Schilt.
