It starts on August 24th. There will be eight participants in the tournament and five have already been announced. Expect two other foreign fighters and one other Japanese fighter. The semifinals and the final are planned to be held in October or November. The winner will face Takanori Gomi in a Lightweight title fight on new years eve or early next year.

Who else would you like to see? Any of these would be good imo: Luciano Azevedo, maybe Luiz Azeredo, Yusuke Endo, Shooto champ Nakakura, CF champ Hirota, Omigawa.

What I find exciting is that three of them are under 30 years old. Breen said on his radio show that Nozadze might become something.

Eldari Kurtanidze

Already made his MMA debut when he lost to Kazuyuki Fujita at Pride Shockwave 2006. He is a 1996 & 2000 Olympic Freestyle Wrestling bronze medalist and a 2002 & 2003 Freestyle Wrestling World Championship gold medalist.

Georgi Gogchelidze

28 year old Georgi Gogchelidze is a 2001 Freestyle Wrestling World Championship gold medalist and a 2006 Freestyle Wrestling World Championship silver medalist.

Ramaz Nozadze

personally, I think their wrestling-heavy approach will be what bites them in the a$$ as it is perhaps the least appreciated aspect of the game by their fanbase.

But how much could they cost? I don't think Georgian wrestlers are asking for a large amount of money. Even if it goes bad I don't think that much cash will be gone. Maybe the fanbase will dislike it so much that they stop supporting.

Or do you mean in general? I agree, they sign a lot of grapplers, I have also thought about this.

honestly few grapplers have difficulty mixing in striking into their game

but the same can't be said about strikers mixing in Grappling

So far only Bas-ruTTen and Mirk Filipovic have been champions doing that----

So Bring on the Grapplers...I'm especially curious about that 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist
