I wasn't aware that this fight ever happened, let alone schilt losing so devastatingly? Was this fight in K-1 and if so why isn't it noted on schilt's record on the site? And how long ago was it?
Any info would be great.

It was on Its's Showtime I believe, back in April or May of 2004.
I believe about 48 hours later Iggy fought MMA in Japan too.
Incidentally, the very next fight Jan Nortje also dropped Semmy in the first round, but Semmy recovered and ended up winning that one.

To be honest, it's too good english for me. Boobs, if you readed it could you tell me your opinion about that article?^^ (all others of course too). And important facts maybe but somehow i have doubts there are any important facts at all.

If you ignore the 150 metaphors, movie and historical references it basically says Iggy would like to fight Schilt again (maybe) and that it cant happen because K-1 isnt KO.

Not to mention 99% of K-1 fans remember Iggy these days as the guy that put on several less than memorable fights, most of which he lost, and they never knew he fought Semmy to start with.

I also didn't like the description "Ignashov trashed him easily" (the Korean fighter). Is that the right description to be honest?

No its not, he lost via judges' decision.

I didn't think so. He didn't get hit with much, but he deffinetly didn't dominate. It was one of his cruise control victories were he just stayed out ahead. It kind of reminded me of the Goodridge fight.

Well K1 gave him many, many chances to revive his career, but they got tired of him losing to 2nd tier fighers. It has been quite a while since he put on good performance against a top k1 fighter.

I doubt the difficulty you had was due to their English being "too good"...
Their writing is, more often than not, plain bad. Lots of grammatical errors, too.

Maybe a paradox, but I think it was Schilt really, after that just downhilll. He did punish Carter in 04, but it wasn't "easy", took some hard shots himself. Or maybe the boxer guy, Williams? But that was just sacrificial lamb stuff anyways... But that is from the "before major injuries" times, then we had easy wins agaisnt Vondrachek (sp) and Karacs, but the first he didn't look that hot anyway (just had some big advantage in boxing technique) and the latter was more of a perfectly timed counter, didn't said much about his overall level that day. But I get the point... Ignashov has been out of the circuit for ever, nobody can say he's done just yet but it's more than likely he'll never be able to pick up the torch where he left it, he's away from the heat and competition of Europes' main camps, settled in his sanctuary in NZ. I feel good for him if he's happy there, with his wife etc, but it doesn't exactly sound like the he's on an agressive route to reconstruct himself and reach the highest level again - for this, I think he should really do like all top fighters are doing now, and join an extremely competitve camp where people could take him to his limits (the examples being golden glory, vos gym, Ichigecki, etc) At least in Chinuk Gym, they had high technical standards and that kept him relatively sharp (technically) even when in low times, but his new training camp is a total mistery to me... I'm sad to say I sincerely didn't see anything new or different from him since his last performances before going to hiatus (and I have watched EVERY move) - as a fan of course I'm wishing for the best, but it's not like a fighter can reinvent himself every week, and Ignashov has had problems dealing with his talent and motivation since like, forever? At least since 2002... So it's so hard to think he'll be able or really willing to do it this time, I hope I'm wrong. The fight with the korean guy was far from domination, a confortable win but he took WAY more shots than he should and didnt really had any brilliant technique to show, cruised his way to a decision, didn't even bother to use the shins or the knees... I just couldn't feel the hunger. That's my whole point.

Just saw your post... That fight was brutal but not exactly inspiring, he was already with many difficulties, you could tell. The look on his face before the fight, it was like he had just waken up, or under some heavy painkillers...
In the Korea fight, I believe we can hear Ignashov's camp yelling him to work the combinations, the kicks, to go for it, etc... But he was just as unresponsive as before. People complain about his old trainer, but we could see more than once he was really letting Ignashov have it in the time-outs, slapping him, yelling at him, trying to wake the guy up, so I guess it's mostly about Alexey himself... It's all up to him.

Chris wasn't there that time. The tattoo guy was likely Hiro.

Backstage at the event Patrik (FEG employee) and I were talking to a guy (white guy) trying to figure out ways of conning Ray into NOT wearing the shoes. Was that you?
