View Full Version : So, who next for Hari and Semmy?

Hari is supposed to defend his title at the Japan GP

Against who?

And Semmy needs to fight someone before the Eliminations.

Against who?

Personally, I want to see them fight each other.

I'd also like to see Semmy face JLB and Hari facing Glaube.

Times like this I realise how limited the options for new opponents are for Semmy... I fear he will become the Dieselnoi of K-1...

As for Hari... JLB, Feitosa, Mo, Bonjasky. A bit scared Hari will retire Aerts...

If anything, Hari will be the one getting retired once he eats an Aerts treetrunk to the nugget.

Look. Im a huge fan of Aerts too. Hell... it was just watching Aerts in the 90's that got me into Kickboxing and competing.

Aerts has a couple of holes in his defence of late. It just took a slight lapse in concentration for Sefo for Hari to capitalise in a brutal way. Ray Sefo dropped 3 times in R1? Unheard of.

Id love nothing more that to see Aerts wrap his shin around Hari's neck but at this point it's a hard to give the edge to the Lumberjack.

Hari vs Aerts would be nice.
I think Aerts would still win, but admittedly he is closing in on his "best before" date (but he is not there yet).

I dont think Feitosa would be a good opponent for Hari. Feitosa is primarily a counter fighter, and I think you need some more agressive to deal with Hari.

Ruslan Karaev vs Badr Hari III would be interesting since they are 1-1 now. but Karaev needs to get himself in gear first. He has been seriously mistreated by k-1

As for semmy. how about Ustinov? (provided he can be lured back from the KO world series). I always thought he would be a good opponent for Semmy some day.
Is there anyone else in kickboxing that K-1 might recruit to face Semmy?

I still say that it is a crime that Semmy is the only K-1 Champ not to destroy Nakasako.

Off topic: I would love to see JLB fighting Glaube...Would be a great matchup, very different styles and skills!

Hari vs Aerts will be VERY great!

I'm VERY impressed by Hari's performance. Today I thought about this fight, it just make me think that it makes Ruslan looks a lot better! What do u think????

How about JLB fighting Sem and Glaube fighting Hari. I think at the moment these are arguably the toughest matchups for Sem and Hari.

Next: Hari vs Sem for belt unification... :)

Seriously, that would be the most interesting matchup...

Other than that: Hari vs Sefo rematch, vs Hunt or vs Feitosa. Rematch vs Bonjasky would be good too.

Semmy vs... well, he beat like everyone.

I would say both Hari and Schilt could later fight Iggy if he comes back in shape.

Off course. Nakasako is the ultimate unlockable boss battle, lol

Wakashoyo would be my second choice..

As tough as Hari might look at the moment, I don't see him surviving the first round against Sem.

Semmy is a big bad dude. i wouldnt want Hari fighting him yet. i never really did notice how much Semmy bulked up until he dwarfed mark hunt, who is a big boy himself weight wise. Semmy is just way dangerous and he probably wont be beaten for a long long time.... unless he fights Nakasako.

I want to see Semmy vs Hari. I believe Hari's chance is in fact he isn't much smaller than Sammy, and he is much more faster. I believe it would be awesome fight with very unpredictable result. This fight is one of my dream fights in K-1.

I read Semmy dropped about 5kg for that fight.

he still looked huge. and by that i mean thick. i remember the tall lanky thin Semmy. im pretty sure he has been thick for awhile but i never paid enough attention to the old semmy and new semmy bodywise.

^ I didn't pay much attention to what he looked like either, so didn't notice he had lost some weight. He looked sharp though. And he was very confident. He only ever throws spinning kicks and the like when he is confident and at ease.

If not Nakasako, then how about Bob Sapp? I mean I have been waiting for this since 2002. Of course I want to see Sapp eat Semmy's picture at the press conference. Then Semmy can break his tradition of boring pre fight comments by deadpanning that Bas Boon had wiped his ass with the picture before the conference.

Bob Sapp matches are always interesting ... but more exciting match up would be against HAri ... "I'm going to destroy that pencilneck!" ... but who would any more take a chance to receive dangerous illegal blows from Bob Sapp

OK. Sapp's fouls are dumb. I will be the first to agree with that.
Still, he is entertaining to watch. When he gets hit, it is like a chicken awakened by an alarm clock. That shit is funny.

And hey, if he can beat guys like Hoost... Haha. I love that too. Who like Hoost has he beaten? Remy? Mirko is nothing like Hoost and he still lost that one. I guess Abidi is the closest thing to a "guy like Hoost", no?

Thing I like about Sapp is that he came to K-1 with size and naivety. It was like volunteering to play leap-frog with a rhino. Yep, he cleared the rhino a few times, didn't he?

Sapp-Schilt. That's right. Not Schilt-Sapp. In the tradition of Bob Sapp, he gets top billing. He comes out from the red corner while the unstoppable champ comes out of the blue. Then the screaming, crying and running begins... for the belt.

C'mon guys. That is pretty funny shit. You would watch. I know you all would!!

i would definitely watch. i only laughed and said wow as the ass wiping of the picture that occured previous to it being eaten.

Actually, I was hoping that Carter and I could do that to Sapp. TeamVooDoo didn't know me too well then and didn't quite know how to take it. Haha. But, a Carter-Bob fight never came around, so my evil plan was for nothing. Wasted genius!!

Maybe he can do a limerick instead.

There was an old ref from Japan
who wanted to fight the big man
he lost in a flash
wearing a deep gash
now sees the errors of his dumb plan

Didn't they sing Kharitonov to a contract that includes some K-1 bouts?

I wouldn't put it past FEG to throw Kharitonov head first into the deep end just to give Semmy someone to beat on, before the WGP, as they do have history with Sergei giving him his last MMA beatdown.
